I tried downgrading my iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0 to 4.3.5 following your instructions. I get into restore mode, select the ipsw. It says, extracting software and then verifying build with Apple. Then I get an error message saying that this build is not possible. What am I doing wrong? And also, when you say I need SHSH blobs, a) what is it? b) where do I find them and c) what do I do with them? This was not apparent from your video. Sorry if I am asking something stupid or obvious.

@Abesyed1 That is normal. Terminal is just warning you not to do anything stupid. Since I have used the command line a lot, I never get that message. Just follow this video step by step, and you should be fine.

@ HackeR - when I upgraded from 4.3.3 to 5.0, I did not preserve my BB simply because an update in Cycia crashed my phone, basically bricked it, so I had NO choice (after hours of trying everything I could) but to do an update to 5.0 in iTunes. So that updated my BB.

As far as activation, it's not an issue for me because I'm not using that phone anymore. I've moved that number to my new iP4S. So I don't know if activation would work or not.

@lizards821 - I actually did cook a custom IPSW for my 4.3.3 ver when I initially j/b that version. But a couple weeks ago when my phone crashed during a Cydia update, it bricked. It was totally stuck in boot, and nothing would work to fix it. Finally I let iTunes update to 5.0 just to unbrick the thing..but then the cooked IPSW was no longer any good. (right??) I tried using it initially, but errors. Finally had to re-jb 4.3.3, but bb is still perm upgraded, right?

I'm guessing this is the ultimate and most damaging error an iPhone/iPod can get as I searched on google error 1 is the last resort and doesnt seem to have a fix. Any ideas or suggestions?
