True, the word itself "oriental" refers to anything and everything from Arabia to Japan, but "Oriental Metal" refers (mainly) to middle-eastern derivatives of metal.

Just like the word "folk" covers a whole slew of stuff, but "Folk Metal" (mainly) refers to a genre of metal derived from northern European folk music.

@euch27 I think they may prefer Asian, although Mongoloid would be my choice, since I hate identifying race by nationality (African American, Native American, Arabic, and Asian, since they can be used in other ways). Problem with that is that they believe that Mongoloid is related to Mongo, aka down syndrom. I thought it was related to Mongolian, which makes more sense. When it comes to racial identity terms, it's difficult.
