with his "born in usa" bruce showed he was against vietnam war and he's showing it again by singing this bob dylan's glorious song and he(bruce) is glorious here and war is hell; this is this song's message.
who has influenced more rock legends than Bob Dylan? how many times has this 'anthem' been used & applied to human suffering and injustice, no not due to natural causes but because of man's inhumanity to man?
like stevie wonder said before he performed this at the anniversary concert, (and i'm paraphrasing) this song will, unfortunately, have significance in the modern world, because there will always be suffering or fighting in some kind. Unfortunate...still, gave us this song and all the anti-war songs. Might've been worth one war.
The anti war song playlist right here baby

All's Dylan did was change to lyrics/name of the song No More Auction Block and slightly sped it up. That hardly constitutes writing the song.
metalmagicians 2 years ago
He was inspired by "No More Auction Block" but what can be better than a negro spiritual melody for a protest song... writte in 10 minutes.
Momube 2 years ago 2
That's true. It is a great song.

@Realdaddyuk Why male? I don't want to sound like a macho, but do you really think there's a female songwriter who's better than Dylan?
