At long last I get to see the infamous Tau tau Chicken ad. It never made it to the North Island, neither did the Tiger Tea ad and unless I'm mistaken the guy in the middle of the trip with the Southland Colours on is also The Tiger Tea Bus Driver but probably a little more, shall we say portly?
Hey thanks for that! We were a small chicken company competing with the big boys in the 80's -- this TV commercial was actually selected to represent our country in some international awards -- really upset some of the big advertising agencies who charge zillions for their "expertise"! All the kids from that time can probably still recite the jingle.........
Jim Ryan, to think I took my clothes off to make that TVC... Jim H promised to fix the sync.... but no, never did...... we lived for years with the notoriety... real "Steam Television" when we had huge amounts of fun...
See all that fame and glory all to promote dead chickens! Could of course post some of the making of You never no Peter Jacksons scouts may yet stumble across this site..
Am in the book in that old gold mining town near QT might owe ya beer!

hi there - yep the same guy. Was actually in the TVNZ Dunedin studios when this was made and have never laughed so much.........
