Apparently it was Lauren Graham who came up with the idea for lorelai and christopher as she enjoyed working with David Sutcliffe.

Also there were rumors about lauren and scott not having the greatest relationship off screen.

The best moment would've been there wedding. They wasted a whole season messing with Christopher and in the end it was just pointless and Lorelai and Luke's happy ending was a disaster simple because it just left it to our imagination and I didnt want that. I wanted them to get married and have a big happy moment under the famous Chuppah they never used.
