Indications show that the average temperature during the last interglacial period 130,000 years ago was 5 degrees celcius warmer than current temperatures. To think that humans can effect the Earths climate is extremely naive and underestimates the potential of the planet. Its a cycle which we have no influence on.
you know what i find funny? every 100,000 years there is a peak rise in temperature... you know when the last one was? 100,000 years ago, take a closer look at your graphs...
waiit if the ice age was 10,000 years ago shouldnt we still be warming as the next one will come in 90,000 years? by following the natural cycle isnt there still a lot more warming to go? let alone all the other variable to do with the earths orbit affecting the situation
@510markman510 Judging by Miliankovitch cycle influences, in the natural cycle we should be entering the next ice age phase in about 35,000 years. Human imposed changes to the radiative forcing seem to have reduced that probability to a very low potential. That is the current assessment at this time. My own analysis indicates that the assessment is likely correct based on the evidence and estimations. w/o human influence we should be relatively stable until then.
actually we are on a steep downhill of cooling. the past winters have gotten worse with extreme blizzards and temps. i live in western KY and in 2008-2009 winter we got the coldest have been 6 years which was 2 degrees and in 2009-2010 we hit -4 and in 2012-2011 we hit -11 coldest back to back winters in 30 years and both were the snowiest winters in 13 years.
not just where i am that is effected the houston area in texas had it's 3rd consecutive year with snow topping about 2 inches.
@thebransnipeD and let us not forget the midwest each winter has gotten harsher and harsher -56 is really really cold for mainland US records were set that dated back since the late 1800s and look at europe record snowfall and cold in over 100 years.
it is going to get worse i'm not a expert but i feel this is a start of the next ice age it will take year and year for it to be noticeable but you don't have records broken year after year for nothing something is happening with the weather.
@thebransnipeD Because the polls are melting & warming the natural tight wind patterns up there during the winter are collapsing causing huge bursts of cold air to drop down over the US, Europe and Russia. While we occationally get these bursts of cold air, the temps at the polls are way above normal during these times because the cold air is not trapped over the polls but released south. The bulk of the winters stil end up with temps above normal for the entire winter.
But since 2003 we've been cooling. This cooling is expected to continue until around 2040. Woods Hole Oceanographic in 2007 said that there is a real risk that the next ice age can be triggered at any time by, e.g., a large volcano.
@HGLOBAL Since 2003" is natural variability, not AGW climate signal. Where did you hear we are supposed to cool till 2040? Where did Woodshole state there is a real risk that the next ice age can be triggered at any time?
Current radiative forcing is above relative thermal equilibrium for Holocene. While it's true that without increased AGW forcing, at a certain point a large volcano could help push the climate into ice age (in about 20,000 years), that is not our current situation.

Your video is being hosted on the OSS foundation's page for global warming and the natural cycle (in case you were unaware)
ossfoundation.us/projects/environment/global-warming/natural-cycle
I read through the information and data and this seems to be intrinsically supported. Well done!

How will you scare us with heatwaves then?
