Really good theme but sounds too game show or too Dalas or similar so i am glad they kept the theme they had for the 2nd series althought the 1st Series theme was the Best of all

The german intro of Space 1999 (German: Mondbasis Alpha 1) has an excerpt from OXYGENE 2 from Jean-Michel Jarre!

Gee, I think I like this one better, but I don't know why they changed the original from Season one. That is the theme song that stays with me, way more catchy.

I quite agree. Somebody said it made them think of Starsky & Hutch's car tearing around a corner.

Just thought it was interesting to see what might have been, had a decision been made differently.

That's no accident. Gerry Anderson's original brief to composer Derek Wadsworth was to take his inspiration from the theme to Hawaii Five-O. Of course, if this theme had been chosen, the title sequence visuals would have been cut differently.
