@sk81514 Awesome Idea i understand you posted this comment a while ago, but il still help you out. With your 8 gallon nano tank make sure you wash it out. get new filters keep your filter machine. get marine salt, and get live sand. its your choice on whether you want live rock or not, but you can add that in day one because it eats ammonia and nitrite.

@sk81514 I would also recommend you get a power head for 5-10 gallon aquarium because movement in the salt water is great idea to sustain life.
My problems with my nano tank:
1. add the sand first after soaking it
2. dont turn your pump on until the sand has settled (wait a day)
3.use a small sized gravel vacuum to do water changes
4. buy a hydrometer to make sure you have the right salinity in the water
5. add the live rock AFTER the sand has settled, (sand settling on the rocks causes algae)
