If I was being highly critical, at 2:08 there's a slight unevenness in the rhythm in Mangini's pattern, which I never heard from Portnoy. - Not saying I could do better tho' :) - Take a listen, see what you think.
@MERTx123 For one, I play guitar and was mostly interested in filming Petrucci during this. Besides, it's not like you could see what Jordan was playing anyway.
ok for christ's sake i know that we all stand there watching dream theater in awe when they're playing but these people looked DEAD for the love of baby jesus!!! what's the deal (i'm asking this to someone who was actually there) because as amaaaazing as they are to see live, can people not even move in the least bit? or was it just cold in the room or somethin? what gives? LOL! it's only the greatest band on the planet playing in front of ya, hehhh
@GazPots dude i'm not sayin the whole floor should be a mosh pit but by god don't you think the band would enjoy seeing SOME sign of life out in the audience? seriously...
Jordan Rudess and John Petrucci are two huge pieces of masters, goddammit.
In this part I thought the two just played notes without any logic in the CD, but it seems they could do the same live, and I can't realize how the hell they did it XD
Anyone who thinks petrucci stepped it up, especially with his live playing say AYE!!!!! Incredible. Dont get me wrong, petrucci has always been incredible. But to play this song exactly like the album... Sounds cheesy, but I'm so proud of this band..... They never disappoint.
@tastefulphrasing Petrucci is God amongst guitarists. So in a sense, I'm not surprised that he played this note for note. However... it is amazing and I can't imagine being on that level. I too am proud of DT and their recent accomplishments.
@chuchaka - Bridges In The Sky - These Walls - Build Me Up, Break Me Down - Endless Sacrifice - Mangini Solo - Ytsejam - The Silent Man - Beneath The Surface - The Great Debate - On The Backs Of Angels - Forsaken - Fatal Tragedy - Outcry - Encore: Glass Moon
@ytsebam They were incredibly tight. Mangini stood out a lot more last night than in the album. Not that I thought he didn't, but people keep complaining about it.
4:32 *_______* How can that idiot just turn around and leave? He misses one of the most epics endings :/

@thablakester Why does everyone think you have to move around to be enjoying something? Really?

thablakester 4 months ago
@thablakester To me, it highly depends on the band. For example Rage Against The Machine concerts were utterly wild, yet DT concerts are not.
Perhaps they're too busy trying to see how they are actually playing the songs to do anything about it.

labrie sounds like shit. he's at the end with his voice, they have to change singer, not drummer

It sounds SO much epic when Mangini drums can be heard... This new album got great compositions, but I can only give a great facepalm to the mixing.

its really fun to see Mangini play drums. And he keeps the tempo so tight.

@1dednimnepo Yeah the drums were more quiet than usual on the newest. Probably due to no Portnoy producing.
