Entirely situation. A proper kritz could decimate a team in a way that an uber cant. But you need to be more tactical with it.

A good Pyro would have chased the Medic, so by running away and pulling out syringe gun, he was actually protecting the Heavy.

Also, if the pyro gets to the heavy a medic being there would not help the heavies chances all too much so he runs to avoid an unnecessary death.
