Sorry for the long comment. Just for the record what I suggested I only did a few times in the first two months post op. Maybe once in a blue moon will I feel the urge, but then I will catch myself. Take one moment at a time, your brain has to catch up. You'll do fine. Take care.
In the beginning what I found myself doing is taking a bite or two of what you are craving savor it in your mouth, then , I know it will sound gross but have a tissue or a napkin handy and spit it back out. You get the benefit of having the taste in your mouth without the side effects. I only recommend it as a last ditch effort when you just have to satisfy the craving. Doing on occasion will not lead to an eating disorder. I only suggest it as temporary measure until your brain catches up
Don't be so hard on yourself. I am within 2 weeks of being I year post op RNY and still have to deal with those brain issues dealing with cravings. My brain wants more and whats left of my stomach ( pouch) says, you know you'll be sorry. Did you have the lapband or the RNY? RNY will make most of us dump with too much sugar and fat. Unfortunately I learned the hard way. Do it too many times and you'll get the idea pretty fast. Unfortunately it is not easy with either procedure.
great job

Head hunger really sucks!
Eating stuff after surgery that we shouldn't sucks too, especially when you throw up afterwards.
I wish I had some advice for you, alas I do not.
Congrats on onederland! That is awesome!
Take care of yourself and see ya next time!
