  • is that a Duo Modular bass drum mount I see??? Just about to buy a Duo Modular kit myself & you don't see many of them around at all. Great technique & speed by the way! Nicely done!

  • Wonderful sound! Congratulations!

  • man I wish i could go that fast maybe one day. haha

  • @butlerboy200 nah man i suck... Just keep practicing...

  • @godisclosedj5 yea you do not suck. Very modest. haha Ill get there. Thanks for the encouragement.

  • @butlerboy200 yeah man itts about learning a pattern Really Slow then just take it up after your can play it slow

  • the bass drum is right?

why the hole is too near to you?

  • Queens of the stone age !

  • nice vid!!!

I bought a drum rudiment poster and dvd at

    DrumRudimentPoster.comx-minus the x :) it rocks!!!

  • haha qotsa rule!

  • You're playing QOTSA !! First It Giveth & Song For The Dead !! Grohl Rules !!!!

  • Your house and your kit almost look like mine!

Aside from that, good snare and setup!

I could crack that thing high and blast to Decapitated everyday!

  • Kind of a lame snare test but good playing.

  • What was that supposed to be showcasing?

  • @numbbum85 He's showing the snare drum for what it's typicaly used for. Back beat.

  • good chops man...what kind of kit is that?

  • Thanks! It's a early 70's Ludwig Maple.

  • you playd more on the floor tom than you did on the snare

  • No one knows... to... first it giveth... nice!

  • What heads dio you have on it?

  • Remo coated Emperors on top, and Remo Ambassadors on bottom.

Now i am rocking the Remo Coated Controlled Sound head with the black dot on the underside..

It takes hard hits really well!

  • Just put the Remo Control on top and a clear Ambassador on bottom. Sound just like yours. You really lose a lot of the snare snap with the thick bottom head. Sounds great !!! . Kinda cross beetween John Bonham, and Alex Van Halen sound. Very cool. Thanks !!

  • When he said 'black dot on the underside' he meant on the underside of the head there is a black dot, not using that head on the underside of the snare.

  • haha thanks for clearing that one up!

  • i have 2 supraphonics...best steel snare drum made and evver will be made

  • Agree ! Hands down best snare ever! & Most versatile as well!

  • I wish I could play drums like you man.

I'm starting to get more into guitar because I barely have time nowadays plus I don't think I can take my set with me to college lol. Lucky you :D.

  • Hey i can relate... I started on guitar, and still play... Only in the past 3 years have i actually called myself a drummer.

I just moved into an apartment... And no drums... They are a solid 600 miles away. But i have a DW practice pad set which is pretty cool. So i get my practice now with that, until i can ship my kit here, or buy a new one! Thanks for watching!

  • Do you know how to have proper hand positioning via classical guitar? I got one for Christmas and have been struggling with proper hand position since.

  • I'm sure you could look it up on youtube... I can, kinda do it, But over the years a I adapted my own version of playing with my fingers.

It really is just a lot of practice and patience. Keep with it, it will get easier. I was too impatient and cheated, and have ever since! haha! My classical style is kinda like pete townsend of the Who.

  • The triplets aren't the same unless you're using a 26" kick ha

  • Are you a bonham fan or something? If so.. AWESOME!! Check out some of my Zeppelin covers. I'm only 15. Please comment/rate/subscribe!

  • my drum kit is supra same as you

  • I know.

  • Your supra sounds excellent

  • Thanks!

  • end of song for the dead, first it giveth, beginning of song for the dead

  • Hey you are the first person to get that. check xevifoo and you can see where i stole them from.. Well learned them really..

  • yeah i think xevifoo may be a dave grohl fan?? just a hunch. nice snare man. i'll trade you my little brother's dolphin kit for it.

  • hahaha... Thanks for the comments! But yeah a Dolphin kit... sweet! Straight trade? hmm??? hahah!

  • are you nicko mcbrain fan?

  • i think i heard some sepultura, and some QOTSA

  • Oh, yeah. Are you leading your triplets with your left or right hand? I forgot to ask. Thanks.

  • I am leading with my right... But you can do either or.

  • "First it Giveth!" Awesome!

  • got a chrome over brass by mistake. (from the store) Can`t make my mind up if I`m gonna keep it or trade it for the aluminium Supra..

  • little darker but still nice... I want a black beauty now!

  • Have a Black Beauty 6,5.. a DW Craviotto, a Pearl Joey Jordison and now also a COB...

  • Dang! Thats cool! I hate joey jordison but his snare is cool!

  • yes.

  • I also have a Yamaha JR Robinson snare that is pretty cool, have had an Ian Paice Signature, (Pearl), a Chad Smith, and so on..

  • Supraphonics rule! I too have one, but it's the 400 model (5"x14") from late 1979.

Right now on my snare, I got Gibraltar Die Cast Hoops, Remo Emporer X (batter head), Ludwig Weathermaster (snare head), and Puresound "Super 30" snare wires.

  • Anybody can get a Supra - ebay has 'em all day, everyday, if you aren't overly concerned about looking at them real close up they can be had for $150. - $200.00.Take your time and stay on top of the auctions for awhile and you'll snag one. They sound awesome - I got 3, gonna switch around, decide on one then put the other two back up on ebay - simple stuff, no tax !

  • thats man it does help!

  • hey im looking into one of those snares. all in all what do you think of it? like is it super sensitive? does it cut threw cuz thats what i need

  • Yeah i really like it. I had a Pork pie light... But it was just too thin and high. I love the supra phonic... It's fat and loud... And yeah you can make it super sensitive with the right head. hope that helps!

  • hey man, what snare wires have you got on tht beauty? and how many?

  • It's just a ludwig thin wire 15 strand. Cheap but classic. I probably had them on a medium to higher tension.

  • dave grohl... Songs for the Deaf... I feel you man

  • You do realize that's the same head that Bonham used in the sparkle kits?

That's why it sounds like Bonham.

  • Sounds alot like bonham...

    Love the sound, nice drumming.

  • yea

  • it should do, bonham used a supraphonic

  • But not all Supraphonics sound like Bonham's. He was very special about his tuning.

  • You are absolutely right, not all about tuning either, all supraphonics sound different.

  • queens of the stone age are a good band, well better than good really, but dude, can we hear sumthing like maybe from your band if your in a band which i assume you are if youre not you should be

  • Hey thanks for the comments! Yeah i would love to post a video of my band. Problem is... i dont have one! People around here are in those shitty Emo/HXC/grindcore/deathmetal bands. They all sound the same, and i can't stand the screeching singers. Know anyone in michigan?

  • i come from a small town in new zealand. it is difficult to start a band here also. i have tried in the past but small town mentalitys always turn it to custard. good luck in your quest, perhaps we should collaborate online, i play guitar for 17+ years, most styles, im bored

  • Sydney is probably the best place to start a band for the type of music Wolfmother make. I mean i9 have one and im only 11! And it must be the way we're brought up cuz wolfmother were all brought up in sydney, and wolfmother make music like wolfmother right?(No i'm not incredibly stupid that was a joke. Doubt it will be funny cuz i0m not good wif em :P)

  • you make my nipples real hard dawg

  • hahaha! I've come to the realization that the US music scene is pretty bad. There are few places/bands that are kickass for music. Other than that it all just sounds the same.

  • yes yes and yes. lets make sum tunes. im sik of playing with myself.

  • you suck you motherfucker the old days RULE ;)

  • i want a supraphonic snare so bad. I've been saving my money to buy one.

  • just trying to be helpful...

both the supraphonic`s (400 or 402) models are made from aluminium not steel.

    400`s measure 14" by 5",and 402`s measure 14" by 6 and a 1/2 ".

the models from the early 60`s were made from aluminum and brass, and these are rather sought after and quite expensive.

  • Hmm... well thank you for the info.

yeah mine is for sure a 402.

  • LM402... It's Steel but I would love a brass one too. Thanks for the comment!

  • Hi,

    Great great sound!

Your snare drum is a Lm402 or a black beauty?

in fact is it steel or brass?

  • such of Queen of the stone age Style ?

  • Ludwigs put DW to shame .If you want the John Bonham sound you cannot use DW

  • Such a beautiful snare drum.ooohh i just love the sound!

if you want to hear a good example of one check out led zeppelin live in royal albert hall,or madison square garden. Both concerts include john bonham's moby dick.

  • Such sweet Supra sound. Most of other Supra vids here show them tuned a lot higher. I'm still just dying to have one, I have never played or heard one live, but i heard they sound just amazing in any tune range. I also heard "everything you heard about this snare is true"!

By the way, my dad's band's first album was recorded with one, tuned low. Check it @ locomotores dot com / hotsite (Portuguese)

  • Hey! Thanks for the comment! And yes "Everything you heard about this snare is true!" hahaha! Your dads band sounds great! Thanks for sharing that! Very cool!

  • what china do u were using there ?

  • Its a 14" Sabian HHX Evolution mini china. The Dave Weckl signature. I think its one of the best sounding chinas.

  • cool vid, yeah I just picked up a old Supraphonic too. They just sing, dont they? That beat your playing at 18 seconds in reminds me of "Territory" by Sepultura. Check it out, kewl beat and kewl song!

  • I love supraphonics! They are just a great snare! But yeah that beat is acutally from First it giveth by queens of the stone age. But Yeah i know territory and yeah it does sound alot like it! Thanks for the comment!

  • i like how you play.

  • Thanks! Check Xevifoo 's videos. I took alot of that stuff from him. He is really good!

  • Wow, you lucked out man. The set my uncle bought me is not nearly is good as that. Nice!

  • May I ask what kind of kit is that?

  • It's a Circa 80's Ludwig. I have another 14" mounted tom... But i dont use it. Other than that i can't tell you much about it. Other than its a late 80's maple ludwig with HUGE toms! hahaha! My uncle gave it to me.

  • Thank you very much!

  • I have a Ludwig black beauty snare very nice

  • Oh yeah I hear those are nice! I also have a pork-pie lite. Its not bad... But i love the thunder from big drums.

But Yeah Black Beautys are very nice too!

  • What kinda ride is that? It sounds awesome.

  • It's a 20" Paiste formula 602. My uncle gave it to me about 15 years ago along with an 18" crash. They are in great condition and date back to 1967. (That is when he got them)

  • great sound.. great drumming

  • Thank you very much!

  • wish i still had my copy of that queens of the stoneage album. Snare sounds great, allong with the kit.

  • Hey thanks man! Yeah i love queens of the stoneage...

  • Hey! :D

    You are absolutely welcome!

I only uploaded videos here, you did the rest.

Thank you for your feedback buddy! ROCK&ROLL!!!

By the way, I really dig your China! ;p

    Nice kit!

    Take care man, Keep rocking!

    Xevi.

  • Test: well done!

  • Thank you very much!
