  • I find that the soles wear through to that cushy part and all I do is hike I'm not in the service they must wear their boots much harder so I feel the resoling expense makes boots like these cost ineffective

  • My damn sole of this model is coming of from it's polyurethane cushion. Too lazy to go out and buy a new pair, what do i do?

  • These are shit. They do have the benefit of Cambrelle, but by far the best desert boots I've ever had are the Corcoran 4390. It has lace-to-toe for a better fit, and a goodyear welt for super easy resoling and better flexibility of the boot after break-in. However, I have found the Corcoran boots are a bitch to break-in compared to the cheaper issue boots. Once broken in, they fit and feel like a tennis shoe, though. Also, I've noticed that the leather on the Corcoran boot is thicker.

  • @cpp1 I like the corcoran boots as well but they are more expensive these Altamas are lighter too. Danner and Corcoran both use thicker leather on most models but that does lead to more break in time. The Altama boots do not have Cambrelle which is a great feature found in the Corcoran boots.

  • I got mine at a local Army/Navy store, they're pretty sweet and very durable.

  • nice! and were can i get these
