Totally agree with the comment saying you do better with plastics for them slabs. We kill them every late fall, winter and spring on plastics..Although this past winter,we kept a few that were full of baby Perch and Blue gills.Gave me an idea,I tried those tiny new Lindy Darters (designed for eyes) in Perch and Blue Gill patterns. The smallest of them are identical in size to the Blue Gills they had in there bellies. With a bit of tinkering,we slayed them through the ice working weed flats!
@ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE really cause me and a friends went in the middle of december and we had to pull up in stead up realing in after one by one we had a meal the next day
@ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE yea i fish in the buffalo area just like you now im not sure if you know what or where the riverwalk is but if you know anything about it when is the best time to fish it also what fish live there its borders the niagra river.
@ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE wheres the place where u guys have the most luck? how long does it usually take u guys to catch all ur limits? planning on making a trip there during late april
@hmongNYjax - wheres the place where u guys have the most luck?
hard to say - every year its different locations - we spend a lot of time checking different locations till we find a good school - the good thing is once you find them the action is usually non stop.
bemus ,arnold, burtiss and ashville bays are the first spots we check out
@KidODeath500 chautauqua lake is probably the first place i ever fished as a kid - my grandfather would take us for crappie every spring starting back in the late 60's
Very nice video man!!! Do crappie pull hard. I personally have never caught on and have never targeted them either. Thumbs up! Keep'em coming and set that hook!!
@crazydude52able the bigger ones pull a little but not that hard - they have soft mouths that tear easily so ya got to bring them in easy or you'll lose em - good eatin fish though
hey, im going there friday through sunday this upcoming weekend for crappie, just wondering if you been up there this year yet and if you can give me any reports on the fishing, thanks.
I grew up on Chautauqua lake and did 90% of my fishing on the southside by Carlson's boat landing and the Celeron wall. It's really always been pretty strong up in the north end where you guys are. Now I live by Irondequoit where the perch are huge but I miss Chautauqua. Great narration always great watching your videos 5 stars.
if you do buy a bucket of it after u used it all put in some of thos crappy rubber worms in there, all gulp is good for is the scent and the leftover liquid scent in there soaks into the worms
Hey I live in Dunkirk too. You guys do an awsome job. I have a quick question. Where do you launch to fish the Celeron area? I usually launch at long point but thats kind of a haul with my boat. Also do you ever fish for walleye on Chautauqua?
DUDE ur soo lucky im like inspired to fish now i fished before and i liked it but i stopped for a lil and now im gonna fish again by the way the fun was prolly catching them but now u got to clean all of em hehe well good luck next time you go fishing :)
i had this happen to me to every cast i caught one and they were 12 inches or bigger but my brother kept screaming fish and we had people surrounding us casting at our boat
that happened to us a few times-one day we had a entire bay to ourselves catching fish after fish and within an hour there were over 20 boats surrounding us-even happens on big lakes like erie
dang, nice cpappies and video bout how do you rig your line when u use the arti bait i meen the purple glitter thing ive caught a frog ith it but how r u useing ur rig? ohh and how do the fish get attrckted to the glitter thing?
we rig the tube jigs a ft to 2.5 ft under a float- early spring crappie are in shallow and suspended high around here.
as for attracting the fish we just pull the jig and float slow a ft or 2 and let it sit a bit then pull it again -a little chop on the water or boat wave action helps too
nice crappie!!!! My aunt owns this condo there and me and my cousin went fishing off the docks but only caught rock bass, sunfish and perch (also 2 crappie
thanks for watchin and for the compliment- we mainly fish with my brother in his 17 ft boat -so we dont have any extra room.the crappie fishings slowed down a bit and were into catfishing season now. a lot of guys from the gta come down this way for the steelhead fishing - have you ever been down this way? some pretty good fishing come october
Great day of fishing! Even tho i didn't get the 16in crappie that i said id catch i still got a nice white crappie. I caught the biggest fish that day. It was cool that you cleaned all of the fish and i didn't have to help. Cleaning the fish gets to be a pain in the neck after a while.
thanks. was one of our best days on that lake for numbers.
no brush piles - the fish school up in the warmer shallow bays in the spring -sometimes by the dozens sometimes by the thousands- just got to move around to ya find a school of fish-then its easy catchin
