  • Totally agree with the comment saying you do better with plastics for them slabs. We kill them every late fall, winter and spring on plastics..Although this past winter,we kept a few that were full of baby Perch and Blue gills.Gave me an idea,I tried those tiny new Lindy Darters (designed for eyes) in Perch and Blue Gill patterns. The smallest of them are identical in size to the Blue Gills they had in there bellies. With a bit of tinkering,we slayed them through the ice working weed flats!

  • In Ontario you can keep any size and 30/person

  • you should do a video on your tackle box and rod

  • you should do a video on your tackle box and rods

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE Well kind of if you want to say it right and now sound retarded.

  • nice fishin but you guys never heard of catch and release?

  • @leovalkama catch and release into hot oil

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE Oh YEAH! Crappies good eatin

  • @leovalkama catch and release is for game fish, not pan fish.

  • u canr call it crappie fishing he left em to die there own death

  • @CarpingTenchLover we all have to die our own deaths sometime - but they didn't die in vain -more than a few good fish fry's there

  • i watch all ur crappie videos all the time just to get me hyped up. where in chautauqua lake are u fishing?

  • @hmongNYjax we fish bemus bay, arnold bay and down by celeron

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE wheres the place where u guys have the most luck? how long does it usually take u guys to catch all ur limits? planning on making a trip there during late april

  • @hmongNYjax - wheres the place where u guys have the most luck?

hard to say - every year its different locations - we spend a lot of time checking different locations till we find a good school - the good thing is once you find them the action is usually non stop.

bemus ,arnold, burtiss and ashville bays are the first spots we check out

  • are those the same rods you use for steelhead and trout fishing?

  • @kwikfish23 YES

  • Heavy Duty, Crappie rod holders! Two and four rod holders T-bar systems.

  • its 4/20 you better have been pretty damn high fishing

  • how long did it take u guys to eat all those fish?

  • is this ur first time fishing chataqua lake on the water and not through the ice?

  • @KidODeath500 chautauqua lake is probably the first place i ever fished as a kid - my grandfather would take us for crappie every spring starting back in the late 60's

  • Thats cool that you can catch both white and black crappies in the same lake!

  • I love Chautauqua lake! Great place for perch fishing!!!

  • Hey man i got a question do you guys ever sometime sell some of catches to markets because you can make a fortune with your guy's awesome skills

  • You all were into those white perch!

  • Very nice video man!!! Do crappie pull hard. I personally have never caught on and have never targeted them either. Thumbs up! Keep'em coming and set that hook!!

  • @crazydude52able the bigger ones pull a little but not that hard - they have soft mouths that tear easily so ya got to bring them in easy or you'll lose em - good eatin fish though

  • @crazydude52able Crappie rod holders. Spider rige rod holders. Rod holders with stirke indicators, works like a bobber.

  • Nice fish there mike !!

  • i love the fishing, just the music sounds annoying, i would rather listen to yall talk on fishing tips then the music,

  • hey, im going there friday through sunday this upcoming weekend for crappie, just wondering if you been up there this year yet and if you can give me any reports on the fishing, thanks.

  • @SBskater6969 i havbt been there this year which is unusual for me -been working near 70 hours a week

  • I grew up on Chautauqua lake and did 90% of my fishing on the southside by Carlson's boat landing and the Celeron wall. It's really always been pretty strong up in the north end where you guys are. Now I live by Irondequoit where the perch are huge but I miss Chautauqua. Great narration always great watching your videos 5 stars.

  • Caught a 3 pounder on Bluestone Lake WV last year.

  • nice i love when the water is infested with the things makes fishing a whole lot of fun.

  • i love catching crappies with tube jigs easy and fun since it keeps me busy

  • that lake is awesome. come from ohio to perch fish up there. its amazing. the fishing is great passed The Casino around the bridge.

  • limit for crappie in NY is 25 north dakota has no limit but they aren't considered gamefish in ND

  • never mind it's 20, wasn't reading the procalamation right...

  • i no u tried to explain in the video but how were u fishing those tubes

  • we set the 18" to 3 ft under a float -then pull em 2 ft or so then let them sit 4 -5 seconds then repeat

  • have you ever tried gulp alive?

  • not yet-i was going to get some but it was like 25 dollars at gander mountain

  • if you do buy a bucket of it after u used it all put in some of thos crappy rubber worms in there, all gulp is good for is the scent and the leftover liquid scent in there soaks into the worms

  • beautiful... i love catchin crappie but theres not a whole lot in my area... i would probly be shitin bricks if i got overtop of em like that

  • Have you ever tried smoked crappies?

    They are so good

  • I live in Jamestown and have caught alot of fish my best as of 2009 was a 44 inch muskie right on the weedline about 150 yards from lakewood beach

  • i got to try the musky fishing there one of these days

  • wow someone else in north dakota, i'm in mandan and bring in alot of nice cats and stuff

  • how long it take yall to fillet them all

  • We only kept 25 a peace- only took a half hour to clean my share

  • Hey I live in Dunkirk too. You guys do an awsome job. I have a quick question. Where do you launch to fish the Celeron area? I usually launch at long point but thats kind of a haul with my boat. Also do you ever fish for walleye on Chautauqua?

  • thanks,

we launch over by bemus and work our way down to celeron stopping at bays on the way but theres the launch at lake wood in burtis bay..

we used to fish for walleye there but not in recent years

  • hey where is chataqua lake

  • good eating

  • what kind of tube is that?

  • salted .5 in tubes from bass pro

  • i've caught big bullheads on those tubes and grubes you use...nince fish

  • how are you riggin' those tubes?

  • on a weighted tube jig hook fished 1.5 - 2ft under a float

  • great job. Thats what me and my g/f bring in when we go and see my nanny and poppa in KY "Lake Barkley." we use rode runners and jigs that I tye

  • What kind of rods(brand)& type you guys use?

    And what kind of reels?

    Really cool video's man!

  • you guys look like you use the same poles for everything

  • we use our 10 ft steelhead rods & 6lb test line for most everything from walleye to crappie ,perch, bass and so on - except catfish.

  • nice fish dude

  • i had this happen to me to every cast i caught one and they were 12 inches or bigger but my brother kept screaming fish and we had people surrounding us casting at our boat

  • that happened to us a few times-one day we had a entire bay to ourselves catching fish after fish and within an hour there were over 20 boats surrounding us-even happens on big lakes like erie

  • cant wait till next spring them crappies are a lot of fun

  • still got the ice fishing season after the trout runs

  • good eatin!!

  • this lake too small ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • damn, this video should be called crappie killing lol

  • @signoutsam nah, it should be called crappie annihilation

  • @signoutsam nah, it should be called crappie annihilation

  • @signoutsam nah, it should be called crappie annihilation!

  • dang, nice cpappies and video bout how do you rig your line when u use the arti bait i meen the purple glitter thing ive caught a frog ith it but how r u useing ur rig? ohh and how do the fish get attrckted to the glitter thing?

  • we rig the tube jigs a ft to 2.5 ft under a float- early spring crappie are in shallow and suspended high around here.

as for attracting the fish we just pull the jig and float slow a ft or 2 and let it sit a bit then pull it again -a little chop on the water or boat wave action helps too

  • how many you catch all togather

  • hard to keep track exactly but we caught somewhere around 100 each = ( around 300) and kept 75 between 3 of us -limits 25 per angler in newyork

  • ur vids r to good

  • THANKS

  • nice crappie!!!! My aunt owns this condo there and me and my cousin went fishing off the docks but only caught rock bass, sunfish and perch (also 2 crappie

  • thanks -aprils the best time off the docks there for the calico's. sunfish rockies and perch are still fun to catch

  • i went to the black hills and caught 4 15 in rainbows

  • cool

  • i live on chautauqua and and i caught a bunch of crappie in the bays near bemus fishing in shallow water this year.

good luck. keep catching them crappie

  • THANKS bemus was ok for us this year but down near celeron was fantastic -couple hundred fish a day

  • Awesome day of fishing!! You guys have way too much fun!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • hi there,

i'm from toronto and would love to go fishing with you guys... am i able to book your time as a guide for a day of fishing ?

  • thanks for watchin and for the compliment- we mainly fish with my brother in his 17 ft boat -so we dont have any extra room.the crappie fishings slowed down a bit and were into catfishing season now. a lot of guys from the gta come down this way for the steelhead fishing - have you ever been down this way? some pretty good fishing come october

  • good job

  • awesome job guys!

    gotta love them crappie!

  • THANKS.

    we love them crappies

  • Looks like you guys had a great day. Nice video, nothing like wearing them out and coming home with supper for the block.

  • thanks.

got enough for a couple tasty fish fries- the block can catch their own

  • we got to do the jumbo lake erie jack perch show soon

  • or maybe the zoar valley trip

  • we got to do the zoar trip soon before the fish run back down to the lake.

thats my favorite spot-might even see some bald eagles

  • might do that one too-close by too.

over $40 in gas for the crappie trip-was worth it though

  • best chance to break the state record for perch-pre spawn

  • slingin them crappies nice job!whats your water temp up there? cant beat that pre-spawn

  • thanks.

the surface temps read 54 already on the hummingbird-less than 2 weeks ago there was still ice on the lake.

pre spawns the only time i fish for e'm other than ice-their hard to find after they spawn- and head to deeper water

  • Great day of fishing! Even tho i didn't get the 16in crappie that i said id catch i still got a nice white crappie. I caught the biggest fish that day. It was cool that you cleaned all of the fish and i didn't have to help. Cleaning the fish gets to be a pain in the neck after a while.

  • i cleaned all the fish your going to tie up all the catfish bait

  • AND TROUT BAIT

  • you tie the bait or find a new camera man.

    dont worry just kidding.

  • damnit man you guys sure tore them up! was you getting them in a brush pile or just open water?

  • thanks. was one of our best days on that lake for numbers.

no brush piles - the fish school up in the warmer shallow bays in the spring -sometimes by the dozens sometimes by the thousands- just got to move around to ya find a school of fish-then its easy catchin

  • Awesome. The crappie get friggin huge here!! Those are some nice ones too!

  • THANKS.

we got some other lakes in ny with bigger slabs in the 16-17 inch range but not big numbers.

the lake we fished gives up a lot of fish but mostly 9-13 inches with a 15-16 now and then.

  • Crappies sure where biteing good that day1

  • the bite was on once we found e'm.one of our best days on that lake .
