  • I didn't know about this version... my mother just told me about that, I'm impressed of how clear they (she) talked, I understood everything they (she) said (I was born in Chile)... I'll try to find this movie on a video store, I think I must watch it

  • are they really twins or like lindsay lohan clones?

  • @4evamhfan like Lindsay Lohan she does a double role which is impressive how they did it in 1961

  • It would of been simple to hire real twins but Haley Mills did good in this film.

  • i haven't seen the older movie, this movie, but i love the parent trap with lindsay so i guees this one is good to. but lindsay is a so much better actor than she in this scene ;)

  • one is supposed to be american??? I cant tell..but is it the short hair one?

  • @hzhousorokk they are both American. One is supposed to be East-coast upper class.

  • @paiwanhan Hayley IS British.... they are both "American" in the movie (1 eaST COAST/1 WEST COAST). ACCENT NOTHING TO DO WITH CCHARACTERS...... Hayley was just chosen for this part (as she was for Pollyanna).

  • the lohan version is better...it's so adorable <3

  • I wish somebody would post the camp dance brawl scene by itself. That was way cool, for a girl fight.

  • omg this verisn shit!

  • i like the new version of this movie .......

  • i love the new one more tho

  • So... which one is supposed to be English? I'd been told her American accent was bad, but damn...

  • @Toribot In this version- neitther. 1 girl played both- she is British. Accent has nothing to do with casting

  • @MsXRAY5000 i was never quite sure why they dont have real life twins playing the twins!?!?!?! it would make sense

  • I looked It the Girl Is Susan Henning Schutte but only shot from behind when You see Their face at the same time then make a line down the center of the screen. I do Not know how They did It maybe using 70 mm film & camera with 2 lens film half then film then other half, editing was easy then did Not have all that digital delay as now. I can do that with still pictures but Not moving picture yet.

  • I wonder are they really sisters in real life?

  • but admit it that the parent trap version of lohan was cute compared to this. right? lohan is very cute on that movie. i admire her a lot. so sad that she let herself be fooled by her BI friend paris hilton.

  • This was the BEST MOVE EVER!!! Gosh, my mother bought this movie for my sister and I and we could watch it for days. I know this was an old movie to us (we're born in the 80s) but this movie is absolutely amazing!!

  • Great movie so much better than the remake!

  • i like the new one betterr !

  • Oh, I loved, loved, loved this movie, with Haley. Have seen it several times. The last time - hmmmm, perhaps 10 yrs ago, and enjoyed it just as much.

  • Hayley Mills is so beautiful!! I remember watching this as a kid and wanting to look like her

  • whats with their accents? i think only one of em is supposed to be british

  • @qwerfvtgb53 No, not in this one. One girl is from boston and one from california. It's the remake where one is british.

  • mmm, nice early 60s aura.

  • Wow... I gotta admit I feel pretty stupid. I caught some of this movie on TV and didn't know it was the same girl playing both roles.

  • does anyone know which hairstyle was her real one ?

  • Hi! Yes! She is Hayley Mills!

  • @WILDCATSBR The long hair

  • Become fan of Hayley Mills on Facebook! :-)

  • I wish Hayley hadn't had that horrible short hairdo in this lol Sharons long hair looked so good

  • i love this version better then the new one its mii favorite :)

  • i haven't seen the old one but after this clip it seems like the remake witch u LOVE and i think i might find it to watch it somewhere:P

  • hayley mills is so cute!

  • Can someone upload the full version on here one day, please (which hopefully won't get taken down, anyway)?

  • This version of PARENT TRAP is the best.

  • Dunno why your comment got a negative vote, but i definitely agree that this version was fabulous. ^_^ Then again, I also thoroughly enjoy(ed) the remake, as well, so either is fine for me. LoL

  • I'm shocked that I got a negative vote. I guess it's some 14 year old kid who has only seen the Lindsay Lohan version. I'm 25 and old school and this was the movie I grew up with.

  • LoL Perhaps it could have been, yeah. I'm the same way, myself, actually (about being old school, for the most part, and even the same age, coincidentally lol)...although, technically, I/we WERE still technically kids growing up at this movie's opening, as well. :)

  • The original is always better somehow. The remade got alot of great song to support. But story telling, this movie is so much better.

  • Yes ,

I think this is an example.. where the remake

was very well made (the one with Lohan).

But.. I also think this old version is the best.

    ( :

  • can you or someone else post the clip where one of the "sisters" has a picture of Ricky Nelson and the other says "oh your boyfriend!" I forgot he was even mentioned in this movie.

  • @porkisgood4u No, I don't think so. The new version is infinitely better because there's more pizazz because it's much more funnier and sweeter than the original version and had better songs too which more young girls like myself can relate to. Lindsay also is cuter and prettier than those twins in the original. The newer one is just more fun

  • HOW there are 2 lohans on movie!!!!

  • are they played by the same actress?? if so how are they both in the same shot????

  • they used a green screen

  • its a pretty old technique, that they still use sometimes (like in the remake!) They simply filmed Hayley Mills playing the parts separately, then put the 2 rolls of film together. It isn't that great, because they can't be "touching" or pass in front or behind each other. If you look closely when the sing their 'Together' song, one girl's arm disappears for a split second because it passed where the film was split. (also, when u don't see one girl's face, they used a body double) :)

  • Thanks for posting this scene. Youtube deleted the whole movie i'm so sad :(

  • Thanks !

    Yes.. happens all the time.

Full movies gets taken down ,

If they are from the 'big screen' .

    Copyrights©.. and so on .

  • I would say that it´s advisable to watch tender films like this one from time to time...it reminds us how life should be.

  • LOVE this one!

  • Yes..

    Very emotional moment..

    Well acted.

  • I loved this show growing up, and Pollyanna too. There was a Parent Trap 2 when they were parents and then a Parent Trap 3 with triplets- all with Haylee Mills. 2 was good, I liked it and saw it several times, but I only saw 3 once.

  • The other Parent Trap 2 is with

    Bridgette Andersen .

The movie has a special memorial

mark on, since she was the main

    actress, and is now dead.

It happen when she was around 19-20 years

    old.

Yes, this movie is nice too..

  • The version of a 1961 is the better one :)

  • hmm ..

    ( :

  • never new there was a original its so old 98 one is better and so different based on same thing but so different>>

  • Tja..

    It's one of Lohan's best movies - i agree !

Don't know how old you are(?), but most

(older) folkes says they like the mills

    version best.

    I don't know.. It's a little more serious .

    ( :

  • i like this version best but the parent trap was lindsay's best.

  • I agree .. !!

  • this movie came on tonight!!!! i love this movie i dont like the remake in 98'

  • Woa!

    I Love it.

I don't know that there was an ogiginal parent trap!

    And it's 1961 Version!

    wHaaaa!

I want to watch the full movie!

  • You should do it !

    Look in 'Related Videos' list.

Someone has added it - COMPLETEEE !!

    (( ;

  • It's not by a case the bungalow where the two unaware twins stays is called "serendipity", if you know what it means...

  • Hah .. that's funny !

I didn't even know it had a name.

    ( :

  • Oh that's funny. i never knew that.

  • I love this movie, used to rent it all the time as a child

  • Do did I .

And finally I bought it .

Watch it once a year.. more or less.

    Yes , it is great.

    ( :

  • I would, but I don't like the 40 minute lull in the middle.

  • Notice whenever they show the "twins" talking together there's a door frame or some other straight vertical line in the pic to hide the division between them where they spliced the picture. That was before computers!

  • Hah !

    Didn't see that before..

    Thanks for telling !

    ( :

  • are they both wearing wigs? it looks like it

  • They are not wearing wigs..

    ( :

'Real' white folks, with thick hair, has

    that look.

You just take a trip to Scandinavia, and

there will (still) be a lot of girls with

    the same look.

    ( :

  • where is the clip after they realise they are twin and embrase

  • Sorry,

You have to be more specific.

    - This is where the realize they are twins !

    ( :

  • I deffiently prefer this one to the lindsey lohan one!

  • Me too..

    (:

  • Jeez...she's, or both of them if you like, are in their sixties now! What happended, one moment I watching her at Kiddies Saturday Morning Film Club in 1967, and next moment she (and me) are almost pensioners.

  • Yes,

And that's a great thing about movies.. they

    stay the same.. forever.

  • Lol i still watch this movie on vhs

  • Wouldn't the steps be wet after the rain?

  • this aint the whole scene =O should keep it to the part after they hug and say like omg we're sisters! :D

  • ..!? ah , don't think so.

    The scene should end there..

    - Right after this, the camera turns to the

    other children ..

    (:

  • strange... i remember it as that Susan sinks down on the bed, with the portrait and Sharon comes back in. '_'

Sharon pokes Susan and they hug and go like "i didnt know what to say" "me neither" and gosh we're sisters!

(have seen this movie a billion times) :P

  • it's common for that time period. Boston was high society and all the kids went to private or boarding schools over seas or were took elocution lessons so they would speak that way. my mom spoke the same way.

  • Yes, I've heard about that before.

  • Why does the twin from Boston speak with a British accent?

  • Ha ha haah jah, good question!

    ( :

  • part of that movie was filmed at my camp

atleast thats what my aunt say...

  • Really ? That's funny.

No one ever knows if it is all a setup, or

the real thing (except this time..).

    ( :

  • Well i kinda looks like it

and those are the uniform we were

    so im pretty sure

well this was filmed in the 60's

  • i have this movie it is exellent

  • If you think Mills makes the hole movie worth

watching, you should also see 'Tiger Bay'.

She really does a great job in this one too..

  • Nice scene. Great Job working on it!

  • Thanks.

    yea, A wonderful classic scene.

  • Thanks !
