Duuude Awsame PC, I have the same :)) And RA2 is the best game EVER!!!!, but it was never lagging to me.. I had Eee 901 and it was not lagging either :P. However i have a big "?" is it normal the CPU to run at 60 deg C 65... even 71 when i play Create?? And i think the fan does not do anything :P
Eee PC serves well as supplement to desktop or heavy laptop. Not game machine, so save complex games for desktops or dedicated devices. Does well with simple games, wp, browsing, & similar. Great for toting around house (kitchen recipes, bathroom wireless browsing, workshop reference, yard reading, etc) or to & from office. Thumbdrive transfers data quickly. Good enough for extended vacations or moves.
yes - for browsing, word processing, movie... anything you use with 1 window open. The matte LED display is far better than all my other laptops!
No - for multi-tasking, researching, and adobing
No windows 7 as of now, may change when 7 is actually released
Yes it is worth the price. I sold mine, but only because I do a lot of multi-tasking. I would've kept it if it had a bigger screen, and at least dual-core.
The really only thing diferent from the 1000he and other asus eee pcs, is it has a 1.66ghz atom (the n280) while most have the 1.6ghz atom (the n270). For video, the 1000he uses Intel 945GSE, at 667MHz, while the N10 uses Nvidia GeForce 9300 at 450MHz. So I would think the 1000he is actually the top dog (btw, n10 also uses the 1.6ghz n270 atom)
1. What size is your desktop monitor? It seems 24", right?
2. Windows server 2008 seems working good. Which is the most important differences between vista, xp, and server2008 ( if you know the most important... ) :) thanks!
if i bought this, could i run some older lower end games such as max payne 2, gta, swat, counterstrike, and so on? please answer! i really need to know.
yes it can play them very well as long as your videos are under 1080p u should be good. i would recommend using vlc media player or windows media player classic. cuz they are both lighter weight than windows media player.
yea same here i found great deal on tiger. amd cpu and asus mobo for 50 bucks cheaper than newegg. plus free shipping. but newegg does still kick some ass....not gonna lie
I remember hearing the atom 330 wasn't designed to be for netbook applications due to heating, form factor etc. Some more info hopefully during 2009Q4 or so. IMO you get a netbook for the simpler tasks while on the go. So even though a dual core netbook would be awesome, I personally don't think its going to blow the 1000he out of the water. I'd personally get the 1000he or if you dont mind carrying the power brick around get the 1002h.
thanks alot for the info, I'll put it to good use.
I'm planning to get a netbook in about a month or so. I just want to use the internet and some easy office applications. The battery life however is pretty important too. The 1000HE seems to be perfect for my needs, however I dont really like the design. I will look around a bit, see what other netbooks got the same specs.
Thanks alot for your time, I appreciate it very much!
great review, even though you didnt say one word lol.. all i wanted to see is how well it ran live steaming video from youtube and it seems to work just fine.
no good models until around 2010, that is when android is launching and also the new chipset by intel that uses less power. an asus 1000he with a little better chipset and fastest processor would probably be the best on the market.
And i think the fan does not do anything :P

hah that monitor isn't to huge
woo installed 2048MB DDR2-667 in my Eeepc, (mines royal blue)
good little computers, dont expect to be tearin' ass across the internet though.
mine came with Windows 7 starter, formatted and installed XP on it. 7 just took a terrible amount of time to boot up and get all set.
