@eludethis - the evo is a road production car, just like any other, they're made to sell many of them, just like a galant. The benefit to an evo however, is that it has rally car roots, and has a sub 5 second zero to 60, oh and has dynamic all wheel drive handling that can drive efficiently and quickly on any surface (pavement, gravel or snow). So if i'm understanding you, you don't like the evo because it's too much of a good thing..? wow. good pint.

I like that you get a cute presenter (trish) to get me to pay attention during the evo test....(annie is nice too) but I end up simply paying attention to the fact that it looks like she can barely see over the steering wheel. Maybe a normal sized person might be a better choice or commenting more specifically like "controls are within arms reach, which is nice because i'm only ___-ft tall" ......but yeah. Include more women. Derek's good, but women are always a pleasant interruption.

I will agree though, that the HSV-10 is rather awesome. It looks brilliant. But if I had to choose (oh poor me) then I'd take the Aston.

Astons are quite nice to look at. but for me the only car that stood out in this vid is the HSV-10 because of how crazy it looks and i'm a bit of a Honda fan. i could never afford an Aston but the NSX i can. hell you can find them now for around 20-45k and only about 8000 of them made it to US shores if remember correctly. and who wants an CRX anyways, it just out handled the NSX in every category of performance except for acceleration.

Hmmm $43k for an Evo? For around $42k you could get a decked out AWD G37 with 330hp NATURALLY ASPIRATED. The evo being turboed means you've pretty much hit the roof on hp without pricey tuning. Also, the Infiniti has a much nicer interior. Props on Evo though for Brembo brakes and dual clutch, as well as chopping all that ricer s#^&t off the touring Evo. Oh yeah....Trish....give Derik a break; a bottle of wine in front of a fire place never hurt anyone...hey how 'bout it!

yes i know the Evo on Top Gear was not a regular evo, and that's the point. the model in this video is not a regular evo either, It's the touring edition, which is basically an extra $10,000 for crap. The Evo starts at 34k, and if you were to take the extra 10k you would spend on this model, and spend it on a regular MR edition, well, need I explain?

aside from that, the evo is AWD,

which means quicker take off times,

and better traction

Elmo...I was a tech for Hondas from mid-eighties to the late ninties & I saw all sorts of failures..of the real stupid kind...from a lack of engineering, or over-engineering(More the over...). It was almost as if these engineers have too much time on their hands.. I recall one problem with puking crankshaft seals at the T-belt end.. Their "fix" was a little piece of tin to retain the seal...Of course recasting the block for a better fit of the seal would be best, but they chose the lousy way.

Isn't the MR Touring the highest grade EVO? Usually you guys get like the one grade dow from the highest one? Like for the Corvette you got the Grand Touring which is the middle class one and the Mustang. Well maybe not the mustang the highest one for that is the Shelby and that's not really ford, it's shelby. I think it's like the SLR Mclaren. It's a mercedes benz but kind of more like a Mclaren. Evo 10 = little to no lag!!!!! common i worked for Mitsubishi for a year now and we all hate the touring. It entirely destroyed the all aluminum roof which keeps the weight down and heated seat why do we need that. Evo has always been about racing not lux. And bilsteins dont give there race suspensions meant for the org evo 10 which dont have the problem of feeling loose when hiting 80!!! lip wing sucks!!!!!! TEST THE RIGHT EVO
