hi, i hav 2 questions:) 1.id use the c600 occasionally for "surveillance", recording car traffic in front of our house, in daylight. i understand that its fixed focus is optimized for close objects. how bad would it blur out farther objects? like 20-30 metres, in daylight(!!). is this only a faint effect, or it is well noticable, like having a lower quality, plastic lens webcam? 2. are there resolution steps between 640x480 and 1280x720? thx for advice :)
I've taken photos and videos of the street outside of my apartment through the window and I didn't really notice any blurring, just compression artifacts. The older drivers for the cam could do 800 x 600 but newer revisions of the drivers no longer have it. So as of right now with the latest drivers there aren't any resolutions between 640 x 480 and 1280 x 720.
@ColonelAngus75 thx:) i googled it also, and it can be taken apart farly easily, and the focus is adjustable in the housing. it has a traditional focus ring. the c500, c270-310 also. u lose warranty of course. obviously logitech locked the focus to promote their auto focus cams... and how many fps for 800x600 in the old driver? any guess?
I believe it would do 30 fps at 800x600. I used to be able to get 30 fps at 1280x720 with the old drivers if I manually adjusted the exposure, but now it's locked at 15 fps at that resolution regardless of what I do with the exposure.
Hello! Can you show more lowlight video with logitech c600? For example, window view at night? Thank you! Want to check this camera's sensitivity! Please set maximal settings (-; Thank you!
I had planned on doing a follow up video because new drivers have been released since I did this video and some things have changed. I just haven't had time to do it, but I will soon I hope.
Very good video - very thorough review, this helped me a lot. Found one for $24.99 on tigerdirect with a $45 off coupon code SFO11470 - good enough for mom-in-law :)
That sounds like the Logitech Vid software. You can't record with it, it's made for making video calls. To record videos go to the Start menu and then All Programs, Logitech, Logitech Webcam Software and then you should be able to record videos and take pictures.
@ColonelAngus75 Hi there, when you recorded this was the audio purely from the webcam or did you use any other audio software/devices to capture the audio? Thanks.
@SpaceMarineITA I ran a FRAPS benchmark on the video that's streaming inside of Skype's video settings and I can only get 14min16max15avg FPS even after changing settings, except resolution which isn't an option.
LOL. It's funny some uneducated moron who can not properly construct even the simplest of sentences is insulting me for being an idiot. 1) I never claimed this was what the video quality is like while streaming. 2) This is YouTube, not Stickam, ALL videos are recorded and not "steaming". (I imagine you actually meant "streaming") Even the most addle minded person on Earth realizes that before they click on a video.
@datarecoil (continued) 3) I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and the camera works fine except for the video effects feature which I don't use anyway. 4) I never installed the Logitech Vid software so I haven't a clue to how it works nor was this intended to be a review of it. I used the Logitech webcam software along with Sony Vegas to make this video as I pointed out clearly in the video. Apparently your comprehension of the English language is as bad as your ability to write sentences.
5) I don't live anywhere near Texas and have never been to Texas in my life. 6) Why do people keep harping on VHS? All of those videos were released before DVDs even existed and half of them aren't even available on DVD. The ones that are, I have on DVD. The only reason I showed them is because they have small text on them and I wanted to see how well the camera would pick it up. Plus that's where most of the tornado videos I uploaded to YT came from.
Hey bud YOU ARE NOT STEAMING so ITS FALSE review!! ITS NOT AS WE SEE when used between two or more people vis VID or Skype or whatever video IM you use THIS REVIEW is of a idiot that HAS RECORDED this clip so this is a false review of what you ACTUALLY SEE when using in an IM of SKYPE! RECORDED NOT REALLY what you see when you talk with anyone! what do ya expect from a Texan anyway?
I bought 2. forget it for Winsows7 64 the SOFTWARE VID is a real joke! no good! use the cam with Skype thats ok! screw Logitechs VID BS! i almost returned bought cause the updated software from Logitechs site suxs! can NOT complete install on WINS7 64 real joke! deleted VID using Skype WAY WAY better!
there are still people buying VHS tapes in the usa ? even wondering that they are still sold over there.... always knew usa was behind in tech but not that much.
Yep, we're so far behind in tech I had to build my computer out of stone knives and bear skins. And I have to use two tin cans attached to a piece of string to connect to the Internet.
No, nobody buys VHSs anymore, other than to record the occasional TV show. The last Hollywood movies were released on VHS in 2007.
The videos shown in this video are all at least 10 years old and I think he was trying to see how well the webcam would focus on the smallish type on their covers and on the tapes themselves.
I don't have a cell phone to test it with, but it may not do well with those. Since it has a fixed focus lens it can't capture a clear image if it's too close to whatever you're trying to record. I just tried it with my flat panel monitor and it gets blurry if I get closer than about 6-8 inches. But farther back then that it looks fine. If a cell phone had a large enough screen to be recorded from that distance then it should be okay to record with.
hes he a pedoBEAR? :D

Can it zoom? And can read text up close? Like super close to camera
sweetdosage 1 year ago
@sweetdosage
It can use digital zoom, which doesn't look that good. Also it can only focus on things that are about 30 cm away or farther.
