  • That is a BEAUTIFUL horse.

  • great job

  • its not so much how tall you or your horse is. . . . . its more how much leverage and forward motion that really counts if you can get enough prepetual motion going there shouldn't be a problem getting on

  • When does she take off her clothes!??!?!?!!

  • im always scared that im going to kick my horse when i mount like that, i am 5'4 and my horse is 15.3 and im really bad at mounting like that, i can mount my friends 13.3 but not like that xD kinda sad

  • what have you got built in springs or something!?

  • oooooooooo!!!!! is that a tenasee walker???? shes beautifull! *snatches ehr and runs away*

  • I have a Clydesdale she is 18hh and i have no hope of doing that

  • Yeah, I ride an 18hh mare, and I am 4ft 11 1/2in... Maybe I can swing mount from the fence? XD

  • What breed is that?

  • Awesome! Good job! Looks hard, 'cause it looks like quite a big horse. An interesting looking horse, too. Is that a blonde mane? Cool.

  • smooth!!

  • i so wish i could do that, but i would fail miserably! LOL!

  • clap,clap,clap!!! that was good!!

  • wow you made that look easy!

  • my horse is small and i cant begin to do that. i have to stand on a bucket or a gate or something

  • Wow, you did that very smoothly! When I tried doing that, I got stuck halfway up.......I'll put it on as a video response actually, it's pretty funny!

  • i try that, my horse just backs off =[ lol

  • good job =] the first time i tried to do that i fell on my ass haha

  • lol thats more gaceful han my bareback mount! My horse is 16.2hh and I can just swing up onto her back without scrambling half way now! yay :)

    awesome job.

  • i need that in slo mo

  • nydeli hest<3

  • erm.. my pony is only 13.3hh and i cant even do that!

  • I know my horse is 14 hh and i can't even do that!!!

  • cool i do that all the time

  • good job! I only have a 14.3 hand horse and I can't even do that and I'm about your height. Lol 'corse i've never really been determined to do it lol!

  • That is the most elegant mounting such a big horse, I have ever seen. You are just great, Elisa!

By the way - you look rather medium sized. So, how tall are you to perform such a wonderful swing up?

  • I am 5'6". In this video she was about 15.3. She is 16.1 now and I'm not quite as elegant at it :-) I have to get her a little downhill from me.

  • me to cuz my horse is 17 hands and if i dont get down hill then i cant get on him

  • lol i can do that on my quarter horse i have some videos and i also find it easyer to do standing at the shoulder and im 5'8

  • lots o springing! hehe, I learned on a monsterous Holsteiner when i was a little thing! don't give up!!!! the main thing is momentum like a gymnist. that's honestly what helped me out was thinking about a gymnist pushing off for flips or doing the parallel bars.

hope it helps those learning! oh, and ice packs for when you miss !

  • I FINALLY JUST GOT MY BAREBACK MOUNT DOWN THIS PAST SATURDAY. i was so excited

  • i cant spring myself up lol im hangin stuck n mii pony thinks iv gone mad neway lol

  • I done that ONCE on a 14.2hh pony, and I think it was more luck than skill Haha.

But I REALLY want to be able to do it, and I ride a 15.3hh so i will need to practice loads! :D

    Do you have any tips?

    lol

    xox.

  • Just practice, practice, practice. It feels awkward at first, but once you do it, you can do anytime. It is really just getting the feel for it that is hard. GOOD LUCK!

  • Are you better standing on front, andswinging up like you did, or standing at the side and trying to jump on? Haha

I try do stand at the side and jump up and on, that may be were I'm going wrong.....

    Haha

    xox.

  • I find it easier to swing up and on. When I try it by standing at her side, she is just too tall and I can't get up there. If you stand at about their shoulder and grab some mane, it itsn't too hard. Just keep your elbows bent and your body close to your horse. The closer you can stay to them the easier it is. I'm working on another mount. Hopefully I can get a video of it. I stand in front of her with my back to her and she puts her head between my legs and lifts me up there.

  • how tall is the horse?

  • she was 15.3 hh when I recorded this and is 16.1 now and still growing :-)

  • I'm 5'6"

  • WOW! i'm 5'2" and my horse is 16.1 too. i'm trying to figure out how to mount bareback successfully... but it isn't working out too well ;)

  • Practice with your horse a little downhill from you. It makes it easier to get the "feel" for it.

  • My pony bucks when I do that because she had a baby so her back gets sore.

  • lol,my horses sidepass out of the way when I try that - i just cheat and use a step

  • She's Gorgeous. Gypsie x Shire. Man BIG horses. I want a Gypsie farm so bad. They are Beautiful! Shires are awesome too. ^_^ Most the horses i ride aren't that big. Anyway i dont ride bareback that much normally just for fun and most of the time i have a stool to work with. Haha

  • Also just wonderin is that a gypsy mix or anything like that? Haha or else i'm just being stupid right now XD

  • She is a Drum Horse (Gypsy x Shire cross). I mount this way bareback because it takes me too long to mount the way TwilightLippizan does. If she were shorter, I could do it that way, but I just can't get up there any other way quickly when she is bareback.

  • neglect is cruelty. Training a horse for a purpose is hardly cruel. If anything, it ensures she will always be treated well and not inhumanely.

  • The way i mount up is just by like jumping on their back with my stomach on the back and both my legs hanging off, then i swing my right leg over the butt. Haha That looks toooooo hard. o_O

  • Out of curiosity... is that your standard way of doing it? Every time you mount bareback you do it that way? If so, I always thought that depending on the horse, if you do it that way it can run right off with you?

  • Yea thats how i do it all the time. But it's not like i go up slow. And i guess the horse could run off with you but i dont get up slow enough for that to happen. Plus i've fallen off alot before so it's nothing new that a horse would run off with me. Haha

  • Oh okay. ^.^ Have fun and be careful.

  • Haha thanks ^_^ And I Will

  • your good at vaulting :)

  • it is harder than it looks, and u have to have..well fresh legs. u cant just keep doing it over and over... well at least i cant. it is actually really easy once you practice.. good job

  • You weight 90 pounds and you have a husband!! I wish i was that thin! Lucky XOXO

  • hah i could never do thatt

me horse would run away lol

  • wow! not an easy task on a draft!!

  • that aint how u get off

u meant to not lean on their neck btw great mounting

  • I weight 90 pounds. She is a draft. Her neck weighs more than I do. It doesn't hert her one tiny bit.

  • oh okay its just i got taught to not lean on their neck for some reason

  • when I saw that i thought it was easy then i tried ind its not

  • LOL My husband tried it about two months ago and still has a sore neck and back. I guess I should put "stretch before attempting this" :-)

  • Madd Kudos!!

That is soo much harder than it looks!!

Espicall for a fat girl like meeh! lOl!

  • u make it look so easy....it's harder than it looks though

  • Wow - you look like a kid (in a good way!) Wish I could still move like that!

  • I like your arabian. Super cute. I have one on here of my girl pretending to be a lipizzaner too. She doesn't pull it off nearly as well

  • Pretty smooth! I wish I could still do that! It is alot easier as a teenager than at 30! Keep it up, looks like you have a great horse.

  • I'm 31! :-)

  • wow ok plz tlk me thru how to do tht

  • if you have a horse that will stand still, stand to either side close to the shoulder, put your hands near the whithers, pull up with your arms bending at the elbows at the same time you swing up your feet. The closer you can keep your shoulders to your horse the easier it is. And, if you stand a little uphill from your horse the first few times, it is easier to get the feel for it. Good luck

  • ohhhh kwl hehe i shal have a go lol

  • Cool!! I can do that too on my 16.2 BelgianXQH!!!! Only on the other side though, or else my back gets kinked.

  • lol I JUST got good on getting up bareback, Before Iowuld just like, try to get up and end up on my back.

  • Very good. Thanks.

  • ur lucky to have a horse that will just stand still - none of ours would!

i cant even get on our 13.1 pony from the ground with her saddle on! shes a crazy pony!!!

but i can get on my 16.2 with his saddle!!!

  • I make a ritual out of riding. Before I do anything, I rub them down and work on easy yields with a lead first. Once their heads are down and they are licking their lips, we move to putting on gear or jumping on bareback. That way, they are relaxed and ready to stand still.

  • you make it look SO easy!!! lol

  • Im so jealous - wish I could do that, but there is no chance hoho

  • lol that horse is tall too my horse is 14.2 hands but i just cant swing my leg over him!

then one time i tried a running start and jumped over him. :)

  • She was 15.3 last time I measured her. I tried the running start, but I basically just ran into the side of her. Just practice. It feels awkward at first but it gets easier.

  • i've tried.....and fell in horse shit. you have a amazing power i want it XD

  • My power is determination:-) I am the biggest weakling I know physically.

  • good job! I'm always afraid I'll kick my horse in the flank. kick in the flank means not a happy horse. lol.

  • I know what you mean. I got her flank desensitized first by bumping her with my torso and knees before I tried this so she would be ready for it.

  • Good idea. I'll defidently try that.

  • You make that look way too easy! I wouldn't be able to do that to save my life, unless maybe it was a 12 hand pony. :)

  • LOL The first few times I tried I banged into her side pretty hard with my body or knees. She is such a good girl. She just stood there and waited for it to be over. :-)

  • i gave you a 10.0

  • Thank you very much. It is no easy task :-)
