  • Hey at least we are in America where we are free......O.K. honestly I don't think I know what that means anymore.

  • yea - 60% more expensive but many many times longer lasting and about 5 TIMES cheaper to run (lumens per watt)

  • not all cfls and leds last long. a year ago i bought 3 CFLS and all 3 of them blew out in a matter of months. government has no right to tell us what light bulb we can use. if consumers like cfls, they will buy them. point is, we pay our light bill not the government. So its our choice whether we use cfls or not. i've have over 200 boxes of stocked up incandecents and i will keep stocking up til the phase out, just like most ppl will do. Face it, compact flourcents and LED give off shit light.

  • @mastergx1 5x longer my ass. Alot of CFLs dont even last a year. amazing how ppl will falsly advertise a product just to make money. CFLs take a while to warm up and their lighting quality is horrible. Plus they dont save u that much on ur light bill, especially when ur lighting company raises its prices.

  • The EU people are stupid phasing out the incandence light bulbs. They are suckered believing the CFL is better and it will save them money. The CFL contains mercury and its not health wise. Duped believing it will save them money, they are still going to raise the rate of use of electricity.

  • all this talk about going green for SOME things is ok but phasing out the traditional bulb is very disturbing to me. CFLs and LEDs give off very ugly light. The good news, is that they're making energy efficient incandecent light bulbs that look exactly like the edison bulb. The only difference is that it will be save more energy. And lets face it, MOST ppl with CFL bulbs will not recycle them after they break which means they will be in our land fills, which means, more mercury in the air.

  • I break florescent lights for fun, the explode neat and I hear very toxic they pop loud

  • It looks like a new "dark age" for europe.

  • incandescent bulbs generate heat - saving homeowners on their energy bills, not to mention using less fossil fuel.

  • and its harmful to the enviroment if it leaks from dumps into rivers. this is the reason they stopped using them years ago. sure they last longer waay longer than regualr bulbs but their very dangerous. why do you think people don't use the old glass thermometers?

  • Yay for mercury, higher prices, and lighting that's horrible for your eyes!

    Lets all "go green"!

  • hahahahaha thats a good one

  • Start collecting incandescent bulbs!

    Flourescent lighting is ugly

  • scary
