oh by the way DethMtl4life when you have the balls to recite this poem live for everyone to judge you just give us all a shout.....im sure we wont be critical
FYI Rudyard Kipling was a racist and misogynist. So when he says "men" he is literally just refering to the men. And your voice made me want to puke. Thanks!
Your tenth grade history teacher should fired. Rudyard Kipling wrote the very famous "White Man's Burden" which, while offering some very relevant historical insight into the turn of the twentieth century, argues that it is the duty of white men to assume the role of educating and civilizing non-western peoples. Maybe the term "cultural imperialism" comes to mind. Maybe it doesn't to an ignorant twit like you.
Please write properly. I am from India. Yes, English did help to give us democracy. They ended terrible custom of "Sati". Removed tyrinnical "Kings" from use. They gave us democracy. Kipling wrote another poem "Gunga DIn". Pleaseto read that. In that he says " You are a better man than me " to "Gunga Din"
Thanks for modeling the spirit of the poem. A man once told me, "Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may have trouble telling which is which." Not that you're a fool, Deth. Just temporarily behaving like one. It is foolish to point out the "faults" in others, for it is impossible to see, in the "outside" world, anything but your own reflection. Stand in front of the mirror and curse the reflection if you like, As Kipling pointed to, your rant has nothing to do with us.
Take no heed Livingpassion, let those that criticise step up to the plate and do half as well as you did! Then they can talk ! In my humble opinion your rendition was superb !
Stefani, so beautiful, your passions floweth once again. I love the lighting effect here too as if you are reading by light of candle. You take us back to the period of time.
......that's actually an amazing poem. I've never really had a sense of awe before (when reading or listening to poetry), but that's quite worthy of awe. That's the kind of poetry one only dreams about writing.
Thanks poetess, as ever, that was beautifully read. I do think it's good to keep
reading classic poems. Those of us that love poetry are fighting, against great odds, to keep poetry alive and relevant in the 21st centaury. No surrender!
just perect!

nobody wants to hear a mans poem that is written by a man to be preached by a girl

mike basset is a fake football manager (ricky tomlinson is the actor. Dave Bassett is a real football coach.

Acting and poetry reading are completely different arts.
livingpassion 4 years ago
very articulate
Blentastic 3 years ago
you over exaggerate and use fake passion its not great, i'm sure some americans can do it well. As i also said a males voice suits it better.
boydie40 4 years ago
Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
livingpassion 4 years ago
american i guess? and over emphasis on words doesnt flow enough in my opinion. Look up mike bassett
boydie40 4 years ago
So an American can't read poetry because they don't have some other kind of accent? Rather silly.
livingpassion 4 years ago
And,isn't Mike Basset a football coach?
livingpassion 4 years ago
no no noo this is such an annoying accent. WOmen do this loads worse as well. Ricky Tomlinson does the best in Mike Bassett England Manager
boydie40 4 years ago
Accent?

And now, I'm sorry, but a bad literature joke...
