The Rock,Austin,people like that made wrestling awesome,these days all the people we loved in the attitude era are allmost all gone.All who is left is Kane,Mark Henry,Matt Hardy,and others i can't remember. TNA's getting all the guys like Angle,RVD,Jeff Hardy!
i like generic wrestlers..i like gimmicks only if their nessissary...not being cartoonish and gay like wwe...but i def like daniels and morgan...they have great personlaitys....now amazing red dont so he gets a manager....i do like gimmicks like homiside,austin,rock,taker,raven,EY,abyss....those are great ones...not all have to be gimmicks...a fair share of normal and different..great vid tho

You actually make a good point, There are few young wrestlers with good gimmicks along with matching personalities, for example, Sheamus, he has the whole celtic warrior gimmick and he gets on the mic he has the heavy irish accent, the explination of the life of a celtic warrior, and yes it kinda similar Finlay but the way Sheamus protrays his personallity diffrently.
I think the problem stems from too much creative input, instead of just allowing the workers to come up with their own shtick and making it or breaking it based on what they themselves are able to do with it. It is also a bit of a generational gap and no more kayfabe culture thing. Wrestlers used to be larger than life in and outside the ring. If you saw Virgil Runnels you always saw Dusty Rhodes. You see most of the wrestlers today and most of them might as well be your next door neighbor.
There is no awe anymore with the Younger generation of wrestlers. Several years ago during the WCW days, I ran into Randy Savage at a fitness expo in Atlanta. I didn't meet Randy Poffo, I met Randy Macho Man Savage. Not too long ago I met TNA's Abyss at a fan fest. He had his mask, but it was still Chris Parks, Not the Monster Abyss. Abyss was nowhere to be seen, just a polite big guy with a sharpie.

i agree PSP "smart" fans are always attacking the veterens like Kevin Nash but at least hes got some personality, hes officialy a heel but he still gets a big pop when he signals for the Jacknife. The Undertaker is another perfect example, on the face of it"the Deadman is a daft cheesy gimmick it should'nt have lasted more than a few months, but hes made it last 19 years, its cus of him, the way he stands the way he moves, ring phychology is criminaly overlooked by young wrestlers these days.

Cody Rhodes should dress up like Link because he could actually play that role. He defenetly needs to have some kind of interesting gimmick when he jobs all the FCW stars in ECW.

certain wrestlers now do have a personality that you're talking about. Punk actually does talk in a way that fits with his gimmick. Jericho has his own personality as well.

No wrestler now has personality. When Y2J returned they took it out of him because back in 2000 he had it. CM Punk sucks. He is boring in everyway and I can not believe people like him and that they made him champion.

Good to know there are smart fans out there even if we agree or disagree in this case I agree 100%. I will say this in my opinion ROH wrestlers for me can cut a good promo and if having a gimmick they fit it well and it makes sense to me.

How does one see Christopher Daniels as having the same kind of personality as Matt Morgan? Nevermind trying to lump Punk into that equation, I'm stuck on trying to figure out how one thinks Daniels personality is the equivalent of Morgan - that's the real question I'd live answered.

Great Video there. Only thing I disagree with is Cm Punk... His character has been original and he has been using the straight edge gimmick in his promos.
However when I look at guys like AJ Styles, Shelton Benjamin, and guys who are great wrestlers but they have no personality. It doesn't matter how many good matches you have if you don't have a personality.

Pretty good vid. However, Punk being generic isn't his fault. In the indies he had a tremendous personality especially as a heel. There's a clip out there somewhere where punk (a heel) is cutting a promo on florida and he's talkng about how disney's character's and mickey mouse are "nothing more than the product of somebody doing too many drugs". If the WWE could bring that to his character, they would have gold on their hands.

agreed i mean the reason why i dont like pspower's videos is because 99% of the time he basically tells people what they want to hear instead of what should be heard
an example of this is that if wwe did something really bad pspower would jump all over it however if tna did something that was equally as bad or worse would pspower mention it much? also i think pspower should talk more about WHY we should pick tna to support

i agree gimmicks are so dry nowadays..in awx we had to make alter ego gimmicks to make it look like we had more people and we stayed true to the characthers with look, personality/talking and moves the way it should be
