I don't care so much about the show, but it's rather cool to see what my hometown looked like when I was a young kid. Downtown Dallas looks completely different these days. Oh, and Southfork proved to be a nice place for my senior prom.
You got to have a employee like JR running things people respect him and also his family except Sue ellen. He knows how to wheel and deal thats what it is all about! When Bobby took over he did not know what in the world was going on and people walked all over Bobby. So my respect to JR to keep things flowing for Hueing Oil I would hire him on the spot and to make sure he does not burn me for money!
I was 10 when this went off the air. I remember my mom used to stay watching this back in the day. In college, Soap Net played every episode of Dallas and Dynasty. I got more hooked on Dallas rather than Dynasty. Larry Hagman as J.R. was off the chain. One of the best villians in Soaps.
J R at his best, i like when sue ellen laid in to him in front of his mum and dad,ARE YOU MAD WOMEN...YOU DONT CROSS THAT MAN.BRILLIANT SERIES ENDING
It is too bad the full episode is not here. If you watch the last few episodes of this season the writing is just so, so good. And it was the end and peak of the "independent oilman" era. So it all fit in.
The Asian wells being stolen from JR and his "investors" mirrored the USA companies having their claims stolen around the world so it all fit.
Everybody loves Dallas - even Queen Elizabeth II of Windsor. Check out my tribute to Dallas on youtube "Dallas theme done Windsor style". You'll love it.
All of season 3 is out on DVD. Go on ebay and you should be able to pick it up cheaply. The whole of season 3 is awesome. A House Divided was just the icing on the cake.
JR is such a bitch!! Why can't he be respectful to Vaughn Leland and to his wife Sue Ellen? JR deserved to be shot, because he poisoned everything, and everyone he works with is very mad @ him, lol.
Yeah, that schedule brought me and my sister closer together. We watched Hulk, then took an hour off while Dukes was on (hated that show) and talked about stuff. Then back to the TV at 10. Good times...
Yeah, I had that in mind also, but a lot of people may not remember that one. The Dove Hunt. great early episode. I love the bar fight. Everyone is in the brawl except for JR who just hits a guy with a beer bottle. But outside he's staggering with the rest of them like he did a lot. Funny stuff. Hagman rules.
Not a writer's strike - but this was the last episode before the actor's strike of 1980, which postponed the resolution to the "Who Shot J.R." mystery, letting the publicity snowball even more....
Yeah, I remember that. It was a lonnng summer...not for me I was just a punk kid who had to go back to school. The show was at the top it its game here.
NOtice how as the second season started, the theme was jazzed and based up a little more and then again with every season. I watched 13 yrs of it all in one summer aboout ten yrs ago on UK gold. sounds like a waste of time, but still saw a bit of sun. Does anyone know where I can see the episode where this old guy came along and showed JR what life would have been like if he had never been born?? Or did I dream it???
I remember many years ago seeing an old new report with tapes with storyline being brought into the UK under Police guard. LOL Its unthinkable now, but such was the hugeness of this show it was somehow appropriate.
just seen the promo for the new one,im glad its back.JR is still the man..

@Mickey2206 Only thing that would have been better is if they had had crossover episodes. I'd have loved to see J.R. get David Banner mad. heh heh.

It ain't this show's fault for all that. The problems we have today stem back to Gulf War when this show was already cancelled.
Mysterwright 2 years ago
But even that looked like a masterpiece compared to the trashy ecomony today, at least bush sr. ended that war greatfully.

The Dream season wasnt all that bad but the resolution that it was a dream is what killed the show

It's seriously one of the best-shot intros for a television series. I love the flybys sliding past...

Forgot to say that you'll note in later versions they were careful to have a much tighter frame on that building, so no chopper there...
