  • my fiddly couplers broke now i have to run it in reverse

  • not to be rude but why do u have two first class cars

  • i like the acela. i also have a hhp-8 set.

  • Man you have a lot of trains. Can you run a consist of two hhp-8s, or are you still on DC power?

  • thats fucking stupid

  • exellent!!!! that was amazing my acela is broken

  • love your acela train, do you live near the where the acela rides the rails? is the train made by bachmann and how many scale feet long are the cars?

    Thanks

  • Thanks! Yes, I live right along the Northeast Corridor (NEC). If you watch some of my other videos, you'll find out where (and read my channel description).

  • those crossover switches can be a pain, right?

  • They were until I completely reconfigured the layout on how it will be in the future. This video in from August 18th, 2009.

  • @Train538 oh, well i can talk of experience because some of my freight cars (I mainly run freight) and even some locomotives derail over the switches. Either i am going to 1. replace them with two seperate switches 2. repair them to have more bounce back force to make them harder to move. or 3. make 2 seperate lines

  • how many hhp-8 do u have?

  • I currently own 650, 655, and 664 (three of them).

  • thats what happened to me when i first got my acela it finally ran after like 2 hours! nice vid by the way

  • Geez! Haha, thanks!

  • AWESOME ACELA locomotives!!! :D 2 thumbs up + subscribed

  • Thanks!!! I hope you will enjoy my future videos!

  • @Train538 dc i love dc less noise then dcc

  • Oh really? Honestly to say, I prefer DCC over DC, however since my setup isn't complete yet, I'm using DC (my power-pack has changed from this video).

  • @Train538 oh ok

  • The scale was HO scale.

  • Oh really? Wow! How interesting! Honestly I would think so but since I bought my Acela Express in 2006 I am not 100% positive. Sorry about that.

  • @Train538 thank you for your input I really do appreciate it

  • I am planning on getting an acela myself, and on the box in the store, it says that the locomotive has opperating doors; does that mean that if you are in the function mode, you can press a button and the doors of the loco will open/close by themselves?

  • I think so but let me ask you this question: what scale was that set?

  • @Train538 WHARE DID YOU GET THOSE?????????

  • wow how many acelas did you buy all of that must of cost you like $1000 or more

  • Haha yes I have one Acela Express and three Acela HHP-8s (all that are modeled in HO scale). They all weren't bought at the same time ;)

  • Is it using regular kadee coupler between loco/car ?

  • No they aren't. They use these semi-permanent couplers that can be removed but are not couplers that you would normally find.

  • Does this have the feature of having doors open/close and voice announcement 'Stand clear doors closing'?

  • I'm sorry but no not this set. The sets in O gauge have the extra features. Good question though!

  • Do you plan on doing any addition to your layout, such as scenery or better track? and if so wll you make the turns more realistic?

  • Yes of course! I won't even be using this type of track! And it currently looks much different from this! Read the description first next time and then ask questions! And the date of this video is there too!

  • @Train538 oh sorry dude, I completely missed the temporary part... lol my bad... didnt mean to offend you if I did lol well good stuff man.. check out my train videos sometime... they are a little old, but they still do the job I want... again, my fault.. Nice set, im looking at starting an N scale layout at some point in the near future... My current one is HO, but in Michigan... lol

  • That's alright just if you ever watch any of my videos, please read the description as most to all information is there but I understand I get that sometimes. Nice! Is your N scale layout going to be a freelance or based off a certain route? Mine as shown will be somewhat freelance.

  • @Train538 as of now it is just a desire, but I think it will loosely based off the are I grow up... I have no desire to be totally tied into making it as real as possible... I just have my enjoyment of the hobby. I have nothing in the way of locomotives or even rolling stock, but have some practice with scenery on my HO layout. I understand about the description issues btw...

  • That's cool. I was just letting you know that's all. Thanks though.

  • i got the same #s power cars 2017 & 2036

  • Nice!

  • i can't wait to get one near new year 2010

the acela express set without tracks and a great deal in my local hobby shop .but i have to pay it myself.

  • Do you like this set Is it worth buying

  • Yes it is worth buying. But I got this a couple of years ago for my birthday (as a 3 car set and then bought addition cars from another website).

  • Comment removed

  • Thank-you so much!!

  • iv never had the guts to run it at full speed lol

  • Haha.

  • Wow Great Layout! The Acela in HO i want it so bad!!

  • Thank-you!! It's definetly worth buying it!

  • Great video!!!!!! Do you have 2 power cars or 1 powered and 1 dummy?

  • 1 powered & 1 dummy.

  • Haha, isn't that the one that costs $2000?

  • $2000! No this is in HO the one that costs $2000 is the Lionel Acela. My Acela came a three car set in the beginning and then I just bought more cars. If you start off with the set (power units, three cars, track, & controller) it cost under $300.

  • Well, this is a guess, but is it going about 100 scale MPH?

  • Yup you guessed right!

  • lol I'm guessing from the size, and how fast I've seen the real ones go by at 150 and just guessing lol.

  • The Acela goes 150 through Kingston, RI and a few other places in that area & in MA.

  • Well I know that but I was saying how I guessed 100 scale MPH XD. I seen them running by in videos at 150 MPH. Looking at how fast the breaks in the cars move by, and how fast they go here (probably not above 80), it didn't seem to be much above 100.

  • Ohh ok sorry about that. Yes I completly understand what you're saying.
