just tryed this. I used to have a 150-250 ms.

When i first logged on i had a 45 ms , this slowly grew and changed abit but never saw higher than 130. It might just be me but , it appears when im swaping stances that its doing it alot quicker.

Seems like this trick does nothing ingame. It shows a clear diffrance in the MS yes. But everything is the same It does not change ur lagg it just shows that its reacting faster while it really is not.

You're not actually reducing latency but rather increasing the number of packet responses making it look like the ping response is faster when indeed it is not. If anything, you are increasing your IP traffic by making this change because instead of sending an ack after every two packets received, you are now doing double duty by responding to every packet with an ack.

@sweathogsparky sry but that is a false statement. windows has a ''delayed'' ack so it doesent have to send 1 for every package it instead it waits and send several at 1 time. with a delay up to 200 ms. which is smart but then again wow wont send u any network packages before it gets the ack... so yes theres no reason for this not to work.

Yes something negative happens when you do this, bigger downloads will take much longer. When you want to download something I suggest setting the key TcpAckFrequency to 2, instead of 1. Then switch back to 1 when you want to play WoW. Of course you could make this task a bit faster by making a .reg file for these two values and just run the right one for the right occasion (ie set to 2 if you want to download and set to 1 if you want to play wow).

Hey just fixed it, i had a few folders that had DHCPIPADDRESS. matter of finding the right one. found it and when i disabled my internet, turned it back on, got on WoW and saw a dramatic difference! it was reduced to 298 to 96! Great trick but would still like a video or a guide on how to reverse this on account it slows down downloading DRASTICALLY. Took more than 3x the time it should to download files! Note to everyone - GREAT for getting rid of laggy gameplay BUT terrible for Downloading!
