What is the Processional hymn being sung in this video? I love the sound of this hymn, and would like to see if this hymn is in our 1982 hymnal (Episcopal).
PS: I LOVE the Uppsala Cathedral and its liturgy. If I ever visit Sweden, this Cathedral is a MUST for me in terms of pilgrimage.
@gbmtmas Hymn 86 in the Hymnal book of the Swedish church (the first 325 hymns are the same in the hymnal books of the Cath Church, Baptists etc). It is called O Guds kärlek, dina höjder. Lyrics: Ch. Wesley 1747, Anders Frostensson 1969. Music: English folk tune. It is about testimony, mission, service. Yes the Cathedral is a must, there you can also venerate the relics of St. Erik (not canonized, was a King who was murdered) at the high altar.
Just to sort it out: The Church of Sweden is not a fraction of the Anglican Communion of Church of England, although the churches are in communion with each other.
The Church of Sweden and the Church of England are in communion with each other according to the Porvoo Communion; so I am sure the Anglican Church of Canada is in communion with the Church of Sweden
Could someone tell me who is all in communion with the Church of Sweden? I'm of the Anglican Church of Canada, just wondering if we are in communion together.
Thanks. The Church of Sweden is a national evangelic-lutheran Church which has retained an unbroken historic episcopate, does not formally consider itself protestant. The Swedish Church the holy mass is the main Sunday service, and the liturgy is very similar to the Novus Ordo. The Church Union works within the church for a renewal of the church in a catholic spirit, with stress on the weekly holy mass, and the sacraments, including veneration of the saints, and the holy sacrament.

What about natural born Swedes as opposed to foreigners? Them too?
LordShadrach 2 years ago
There are such problems in every country, but we have less problems with racism than in most western countries I believe.
karpov89 2 years ago
That is because the Swedes are more open and more accepting.
LordShadrach 2 years ago
That is so. We are accepting a lot of refugees compared to our population which is only 9 million

The church, and this people in particulary, pray for the visible unity of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church.

carloncho1607 2 years ago
It's simple. High Church Protestant.

carloncho1607 2 years ago
Well, the Church of England has it's own fractions like the Church of Sweden. But, sort of, old chap.
