@mick50651 I got my first transistor radio in 1965 whe I was 3 years old and listened to it in my bed all night long on WTIX ( The Mighty 690AM ) in New Orleans, La.
@Moss7373 -its funny how music of the 60's changed as quick as the technology.
In 59' high tech computers still had tubes, by 69' they had perfected the intergrated chip -consequently the music of that same era is identifiable enough to pin down to within a certain 60's time frame.
Basically you had the early 60's sound (60-63) which was a carryover from the late 50's, the early/mid 60's (64 & 65) with that mersey feel with 1966 as a major turning point leading to the late 60's inventiveness
yes, I do, I was born 6/6/1952......I'm 57 and remember it well. I would ride my green 3 speed schwin bike along my pape route and sing this tune while delivering my papers........I was 15 and my hormones were racing like any other 15 year old kid's were!!! I would never trade in my teen years for nothing, especially listening to the 60 tunes....Timeless is Lesley Gore.....
@jsbach15 I'm , born 6/6/52...............I'm not a broadway listner, never was but I'm from Minnesota and have listened to the AM side of the radio since I was 15
@nwfc65 Don't remember exactly but it's place in the charts was disappointing. I don't think it made it into the top ten. I think it was a shame. It was her last hit
Remember when you got your first AM radio with a monorial earplug?
