  • this game destroyed my childhood! i was so afraid of that music..

it still creeps the shit out of me...

    DAMN!

  • @MrBT2M3 Which level?

  • @987654321CAW boss theme, intro and after you won a battle! damn!! :D

  • @MrBT2M3 Oh, I thought maybe the water stage creep you a bit.

  • Excellent sound, beautiful graphics, great story, 2-player coop fun, fantastic gameplay and controls. One of the Genesis' finest!

  • Oh god, that minecart level was a friendship-ruiner. "I SWEAR I'm not flinging you into the rocks on purpose, man!"

  • wow brings back memories :) i loved this game cos it was 2 player and i could play with my bro at the same time without having to take it in turns, my fave level was when u flew the flying carpet but i played as donald so my bro always got to fly the carpet :D best game ever.

  • The Library is my favorite level with the best music and it has the christmas box and you breezed it in 20 seconds!!! :(

  • the bad guy in the end smiling beacause of the rocket is AWESOMNESS

  • Everything about this game is amazing, right down to the music! The spellbook / end level music and the end credits theme are epic!

  • Co-Operative platforming/puzzling.

The closest I have ever seen to this game recently was Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

  • Wait a second, did Donald just say what I thought he said? LOL. Anyway, great game. I love it so much!

  • Thank you for this video. *sniff.

SEGA will be part of my childhood heart until the day I die.

  • Sorry, the credits music gets to me sometimes...it's been, what...13 years since I played this?

  • this game more than any other seems to bring out the nostalgia in people.

  • I remember this game like it was yesterday. The sega megadrive being the first console I owned and this being the first game I finished (with great difficulty, sweat and tears in the package too :p but nonetheless I persevered and it was the greatest feeling in the world at that time). I swore when I was watching that I was my 7-8 yr old self again. Ah memories I will cherish forevz...

  • isnt it weird that a game like kid chameleon (can take 4 hours to play through normally) can be tas'd in under 15minutes but this game that can be comp'd in about 50 minutes on average takes 18 mins when tas'd.....weird eh? :)

    good run, epic game!

  • In stage 5, it appears that you have returned to the castle of illusions!

  • excuse me while i CRY

  • it's funny how nostalgia works. I haven't played this game in probably 15 years, and I don't even remember if I owned it or not, but I immediately remember what it was like being an 8 year old kid again. I even remember all of the music, especially the water level.

  • I can remember being 8 years old again instantly when i see this. I probably haven't played this in 15 years and i don't even remember if i owned it or not, but I can automatically remember all of this as i watch it again.

  • Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I had this game when I was 16. My boyfriend bought me sega and this game for christmas. I use to play this game after I did my homework for hours lol. I can still see my room how is was back in 93. :)

  • Man... I remember playing this when I was a kid. An amazing game from start to finish, with a wonderful soundtrack and the same Disney charm in its art style as you'd expect to see in Mickey Mouse cartoons. One of my absolute favorite Genesis games.

  • This game has, in my opinion, the best co-op experience of any game. I have fond memories of yelling at my friends for hitting me with their magic cape, and trying to jump on each other first while going up the mountain.

  • I nostalgia'd hard. I haven't played this game in almost a decade.

  • nobody wants to play this with me :(

  • I said it on a Magical Quest video and I'll say it again anything that comes out of the Disney Interactive of today has nothing on the Disney games that companies like Capcom and whichever one made World of Illusion here the Dinsey games made for NES, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis (Megadrive for those of you outside the U.S.) Well almost all of them (I didn't think that one Beauty and the Beast game for the Genesis was all that good) but still anything that comes out of the *2bcont.*

  • *Continued* but still anything that comes out of the Disney Interactive of today has nothing on games like World of Illusion, to be honest even though I played Kingdom Hearts, I've always been irked by any RPG with a real time battle system due to the fact I can't keep up with the action plus then theres the stupid part where you fight Riku in Hallow Bastion and he hits you while you're in the middle of healing yourself. Which is why I prefer more simple turne based RPGs. *2bcont*

  • *Continued and I'm sorry for the long comment I'll understand if anyone hates Me* but still Disney games like this will always be better than whatever the Disney Interactive of today that makes the current Disney titles can ever come out with.

  • 20 minutes of delight.

  • Dunno why, but when the TAS player is in the Candy Land, I somehow get Switzerland in my mind :D

  • In the stage at 17 and onwards there's sneak advertising. The sign of Libra is in the back, but no other signs. That's blasphemy.

    Lol, i'm just overtired xD

This was a good game when i was really young, but it was hard as well.

  • hmmm

  • One of the best parts about this game is the multible paths. 1 players Mickey, Donald, and 2 players. I think I liked Donalds path better because of the leaf ride, and that pop up book.

  • Used to LOVE this game. It was great for two players because you really needed to help each other out in certain places.

Well done to AKA. Playing two characters at the same time is pure gaming genius.

  • The music it is amazing!!!!!!! Really nice game

  • One of the best games of all time, specially in the creative sense, impressive. This game joints key gaming factors such as music, replay value, story and vision.

  • j'aime bien ce jeux vidéo parce que j'ai ce jeux vidéo sur ma ancienne console de jeux vidéo la mégadrive 2 que ma mère à acheter en 1996 à Saint Denis de l'ile de la réunion.

  • bonjour

  • bonjour

  • The story of the game is more than meets the eye. It is said to be based on Disney movies, but that is just a front. This game is based on a Satanic magical world being controlled by Lucifer/Satan (Pete the Magician) who was summoned into the world by the illuminati. On the 3rd level, Mickey enters Atlantis. On the last level, Mickey enters the Temple of Babylon where he has to fight Lucifer in the end.

  • bonjour

  • Nice, which drugs do you use?

  • that account name is teasing me, especially since it's closed now

  • 15:52 my favorit LEVEL.

see nintendo fanboys the genesis has a good sound cart too.

    listen this beautiful music

  • sweet memories :D

  • yeah, that re4ally brings back memories.. I played it while I was 7 or so :D

  • That was so cool! I love how you guys did some things simultaneously like at the end of the level after the boss defeat. This is the best game ever!

  • its 1 guy controlling both characters

  • very cool

  • Best coop game on the genesis

  • the memories xD

    My favorite game on Sega

  • The memories.....

  • oh man you skip the christmas level

    thats one of favorite :)

  • correction you show it ahead xD

    sorry

  • this game has really good graphics.

  • gotta love co-op games like this

  • true, there was so much more focus on co-op games back then..

  • >PawJensen : Ha! Totally agreed, old 2D games always keep a place in the heart of the players (And now i feel old).

  • Gaming back then was so much more fun, then it is today.. I miss the old times..

  • definitely

  • i love this so much it makes me sad that we dont get this no more :(

  • I am curious though, how many times have you played this? You run over gaps and stuff like you know by heart it won't kill you.

  • One of THE best games ever. I have very fond memories of it, and I can't thank you enough for this wave of nostalgia

  • yeh man :)

this is the game that me and my best m8 have memories of the most

  • Hahahaha I can't believe he skipped the XMAS level in The Giant World.

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again- this game is an absolute masterpiece- an overused word- from start to finish. It feels like an instant classic the moment you see the opening. (I love the way that the camera moves around the barrel and the way that parts of the scenery scroll in front of others throughout the game). It has a subtly period feel in many places, as if it is from early Disney animations of the 1930s but it is thankfully never a dated pastiche.

  • The game and music has a greatly intriguing sense of mystery to it and a beautfiul surrealness- like 8.41 when the shrimp carries on past the brickwork. It's charming but also not twee- it has a bit of a strange darkness to it- my choice of best Megadrive game. The highest compliment I can pay is that I think that Walt Disney would have been amazed by this himself.

  • Agreed , this was easily my fav game for the MegaDrive then the Sonic series , this games art , gameplay and music flow so well its just really fun to play , a thing that most games today fail at being , fun to play :/

  • @Picnicl This game was boring as shit. Castle of Illusion was much better.

  • @ioport And Quackshot was even better than Castle of Illusion, which was too slow and linear.

  • Sweetest Game that I ever Played in Genesis.

    I want them again.

  • ....Thanks for the memories. I need to call my friend so we can play this again just like we always did back when we were kids.

I think the Christmas Tree part was always my favorite just for the music and the colorful level design.

  • Did Donald just say "f***"?

Or a poor version of quack. XD

    It's sounds funny. ☺

I love this game. Tis' amazing!

    Emilee♥

  • You killed Donald!!! :(

  • My fave childhood game!

I liked seeing the mad hatter and the card soldiers, in the bush maze areas!

Sadly we will never get a game like this ever again :(

  • This was one of my favourite games I used to play on the Megadrive and my favourite character to play was Donald because he was easy to play and I like his attitude when you stop moving and waits impatiently and getting a little pissed off. Most of the characters in the game are from Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio and The Sword in the Stone.

The likes of the Mad Hatter, The Card Soldiers, The Catapiller and Pinocchio's Goldfish and the witch from The Sword in the Stone.

  • This was one of my favourite Games I played on the Megadrive when I was a kid. My brother and I used to play it together. My favourite character is Donald because he was easy to play and I like his attitude when you stop moving in the game where he get's a bit impatient. Most of the characters in the game are from Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio and The Sword in the Stone.

  • wasn't there a raining stage??

  • you have to get mickey mouse and get o the sky level

  • i think the same ibeno, this game and sonic 2 having a something special, i remember play with my brother all time!!!!

  • I LOVED THIS GAME!!!

  • This is the only game my brother and I played together that DIDN'T raise arguments over who got to be who or do what. I loved this game! Minus that level where you had to go through certain doors...that was a b****.

  • the memories....me and my brothers used to play this all the time! so fun

  • This and sonic 2 are 2 of my favirout games ever. i would be so happy if they brung this to xbox live or virtual console

  • This was one of the best teamwork games out there. You and your partner really had to work together to beat this game. Great game!!!

  • They cant even get a full house at the end. ROFL!

  • i think I'm gonna cry. This brings back so many wonderful memories. I'm 21 now and the last time i played this was when I was about 7. How time flies. The music in this game is great. My favorites are the underwater theme, the final stage and the christmas level.

  • the third level music reminds me "the little mermaid

  • Man, I used to love that music in the underwater part of this game. This was by far the greatest Mickey Mouse game out there.

  • Oh holy hell It's like looking into the past... God, I'm still young, but after watching this, I feel like I'm Old!! Haven't played in years... almost a decade I'm sure.. or more than that I guess... I loved this game!!! Grew up on it!! Great video! 5 Stars. Holy shit You ROCK!!!!

  • haha the MUSIC!!!!! this was my childhood, i loved the music in this game. it was so much fun

  • back when i was a kid, i used to play all these games, i didnt even know what was going on in the movies of the game, this is one of the few games for genesis i actually beat

  • wow...i was about 5 years old when i played that...thanks that you brought back that reminisence

  • my alltime favorite sega game... with an excpetion to sonic 2

  • Sonic 2, this, Ecco tides of time, and Streets of Rage 2

  • I remember playing this in my childhood i was like 5. I still play it now and then. Played multiplayer alot with my brothers.

  • this video game defines my childhood playing Sega. Sure I had all the Sonic games, but this one stood out. Loved the music, game playa and the levels. this was one of the first games i ever beat. this makes me want to dust off the old genesis and take this game for a spin. i remember the ending levels and being able to go through jello

  • Maybe for some Disney anniversary or something, they'll release games like these on the Virtual Console. I doubt it, but I hope it happens.

    I miss these games. :)

  • wtf how you did that at the start? care to share?

  • omg i used to have this game, i luved it so much! i could never get passed a bit on a certain lv on co-op though

  • This is one of the best platformers on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive! I would love to play it again! Love it how there are varieties of routes, like typical Mario games and you can pick between two characters like mario games....well SORT of like mario games (they change that idea in every mario game)!

  • hahaha...good times. love this game. great music too

  • Whoever wrote the music to this game is a genius- it's absolutely classic composing- both charming and mysterious.

The same is true of the game itself.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves the music for this game. It's so underrated... why the hell has it not made it into these "video games live" events. This music would sound wonderful played by an orchestra. More musical than bloody Mario is.

  • Numerous infuriating reasons teamtb. It seems that many people think that the only truly great 2D platform games ever produced all had 'Mario' or 'Sonic' in the title. To a large number of people anything that is Disney is 'for kids' and, even if it is enjoyed by adults it is as a 'guilty pleasure'. yet they find it acceptable to enjoy gruesome TV crime dramas as they reflect 'real life'. If everyone lived their life more akin to a Disney game than a GTA game it would be a much better world.

  • I love the music from the last level with blue background, before the final boss.

  • How do you get tool assistant?

  • One of the best games for Sega Mega Drive!

    <3333

  • cake world

  • does anyone know where i can find the underwater theme to this game?

  • I remember when i get a beta cartridge of this game.

Some incomplete stages, no life bar (you can't die)...

  • I used to pwn this game oh so much .. but i used to plug my controller int Slot 2 .. so i could play as donald =] ^^

  • wow i didnt know so many people liked this game...Reminds me of being a young lad.........

  • thiis game owns

  • this game was awsome also hilarious when you pull out donald from small spaces lol

  • =]] one of the first games i ever played

  • Man this game was one of best back in the 90s. Played the original version again on my Genesis not long ago.

I'm desperately looking for a hack of this game or a fan-made sequel, if that ever exists...

  • I remember playing this with my ex in high school. Only game she'd play..lol.

  • i used to play this with my ex too

  • and we were damn good at it too pete didnt have a prayer against us i remember her favorite levels were the christmas level and the candy level and we both loved the ending credits thats why this great game takes me back to middle school

  • Yup, her fav level was the candy lvl 2.. I always hated that damn level.

  • This was a good game. Pretty challenging, too.

  • This was the second game I ever beat, and first coop game I ever beat. 5/5 wow love this game

  • Also the ending made me cry.

  • Okay, this game makes weird sound effects, like when the boulders fall.

  • hahahahaha Mickey and Donald Look asshungry when they run.

  • Great game. One of the best.

  • OMG I loved the music during the magic level

  • magic level?

I loved the one in the library

  • Brings back memories. Ltos of them thanks.

  • Well played. Brought back the memories, thank you. But how did you upload a 22 min video when the limit is 10 on here. I am sure it is one rule for one and one for another. Still, great work.

  • i like this game a lot

  • oh MAN! I remember loving this game! I hated being Donald, because his big girl-ass would get stuck if he were trying to crawl through something...

  • dude...You stole my name! Wtf, expect a call from my lawyers shortly. :)

btw, This was a great video.

  • I loved this game! :D

  • Anyone else but me notice that the boss for the second-to-last level is Mad Madam Mim from the Sword in the Stone?

  • What was this, 1992? Hard to believe they'd already advanced this far from "Mickey Mousecapade" from just four years earlier.

  • fuckin classic

  • Perhaps the subtlety of this game is lost on a lot of people but it (and indeed many of the other Megadrive games) are some of the finest pieces of Disney entertainment ever produced. The music and graphics are beautiful.

  • how do you record from a gens emulator, can somone help me please, and no i dont wanna use fraps

  • The Witch is the best. No attacking. she's just minding her own business, suddenly Mickey and

Donald just show up and beat the snot out of her.

  • Loved this game when I was a kid heck I still love it. Loved the fact that blankets could disentagrate anything.

  • Such memories of my childhood, brings a tear to my eye.

  • One thing I always wondered about the last episode: why is the Mad Hatter trying to kill you?

  • OMG! I remember when I used to play this game with my sister!

    Such good memories.

I wish they had more 2-player games like this where you can play an entire game together and the other player doesn't get lost.

  • i also played that game with my sister when i was younger :D

  • Yea me too those were the 90s

  • somehow i kinda like the 1st level's music. xD

  • how did you do that... 0.40 SEC ??

  • you are crazy, pretty funny, respect

  • Fav game of all time!

  • How could you defeat Madam Mim (12:52) with such brutality....shes a legend and should be treated as such!!

  • I used to loved this game so much! I wish I had this game and also Sega Genesis. T_T

  • u dont need to have a sega... just get wgens210 and download the ROM ( world of illusion ) and open it with gens !!

  • definaly i remember dis game wen i wuz 5!
