I bought the LP for this back in 1987 (senior year in high school) it had the radio version and remix version of medicine show plus a song called 'This is BAD" included. I have never heard any song remotely like Medicine Show. I cant say that I really love it but each time I listen to it I hear something new that I didn't before. Very interesting and creative.
Saw them in Nottingham last week, just Bang on. in 1985 on thier first tour they played at the powerhouse in birmingham and started with an instrumental which they called Keep off the Grass, it had bits of the magnificent seven theme in it, fantastic. Janet Street Porter knocked me over during the Bottom Line, i'll never forget it. BAD never got the plaudits they (or MJ)deserved. Who writes stuff this good anymore. superb
4mins 47 secs......Micks face....He knows he was frikkin nailing it kingsize, masterminding a masterpiece. Not for the first or last time I might add.
Already commented but just gotta do it again........Freakin awesome. Didnt know how I'd feel about a reformation but been dribbling at both ends for a month now!!!!
@cider4ever got my ticket .can hardly wait, glasgow abc.original bad, what more can u ask for.they were a great live band.don letts is the coolest dude i ever meet.
My entire teenage years were devoted to these fellas......One bastard goes in another comes out.....I love alllsorts of tunes but no band will ever mean as much to me as BAD and I mean BAD not Big Audio or BAD 2. Although Dreadzone are close.
You know, we all worship Joe like Lennon, and I still do. But Mick was way ahead of his time with this. I bought it then because it was good and because it was Mick. Now I know how good it was. Mick Jones lovely underrated geezer.
it sounds stunning - somehow - the soundtrack to my life - MJ - a genuine genius in a world full of "legends" - how's that for a dichotomy - work it out for yourselves - suckers - and "duck" while you're at it ! - ha ha
I still remember even now the 1st time i heard this in the middle of the night on the radio more than 20 years ago.... It still sounds as good now as then... And its message of being taken in by those who promise you everything is as relevant now as then.... They said invading Iraq & Afghanistan would make the world a safer place.... Snake Oil salesmen and politicians are just the same men in different suits!
Couldnt a said it any better myself jim! I was 15 when I first heard this. I was so blown away by this whole album! I used to hang out and listen to this on my Walkman, yes I said Walkman!! I'm an oldhead! Im glad I grew up in the 80s!!!
Awesome.....The Clash+Bad+Bad2+Big Audio+TheMescalaros+Joe+Dreadzone+Screaming Target+Carbon Silicon........I think when The Clash split we got so so much......visited the R&R Library and it rocked..cheers Mick.
