i was devistated when i fount out aa was being closed down, i grew up there as a child, loving the silver city members, the horses, the cowboys and girls, i used to say dad you know when im older can i be like them, and he used to tell me yes! .. but then it shut it was my childhood dream to be a cowgirl haha. ill never forget aa!!

thanks for the memories i spent two seasons at the park one whole one on panning for gold in a cowboy hat and the second as a team leader in amusements down the spaceport end i even met my current hubby at the park

I went there yesterday and it is sad to see the site looking trashed. There was one security guy walking around, but he didnt see me! I remember it in its hayday and used to go regulary as a child.

I walked round the park last week and couldn't believe what I saw. Its absolutely gutting, I have so many good memories of the place from when I was a kid and its just so sad to see it now in its current state.

I worked there for 2 seasons in 1995 and 1996...I loved it there..I was a Rapids Controller and Rides Supervisor. Prior to that we had annual passes most yrs. Missile will always be my fav rollercoaster.

Oh so your the fella who got the mascot, I read about you! So many memories of American adventure, I first went with school when it was Brittania park, then year after when it changed. I loved the singing bears when you first walked in and the massive cowboy hats made of foam. It changed too much for my liking, all they needed was a cash injection and some more big rides, a big mistake losing the good ones. It's what made it!

Ahh, the American Adventure. 'twas once a great themepark. IMO their biggest mistake ever was removing the Missile and Log Flume.

Who knows? If they were kept American Adventure could have had a 2007 Season.

I've not been since 2005 due to that fact.

Ohh well, it will be missed.

I'm pleased to see the Yankee Clipper lives on at Twin Lakes though.
