  • when does the duplication of the chromosomes happen? your video does not mention that..

  • I have this stupid test tomorrow on mitosis an mieosis

  • aww i lyk the way <3

  • thumbs up if u have a test tomorrow

  • from 0:00 to 0:33 prophase

    from 0:34 to 0:50 metaphase

    from 0:51 to 1:09 anaphase

    from 1:10 to 1:30 telophase

  • now I undertand some things about the mystery of life that only GOD can create.

  • put this on, listen to some dramatic 19th-century music, kick back, and LEARN.

  • I'm watching this at school.

  • What's with this scary music o.O

  • @cezto999 it is pretty scary! lol

  • mr smiths sockasomes beats this :L

  • i read the mitosis over and over again. took cornell notes, and memorized vocab. who knew watching a 1min video is the solution

  • how can a science video like this get so many views? o.O

  • This 2 minute video cleared up so much for me. More than I biology teacher.

  • 240p...we meet again.

  • 1:16 potato -> 2 eggs :D

  • microscopic tug of war lol

  • @xoalaraxoxo

    I think you mispelled Science

  • voice of narrator is so calm ..... and d bakrnd music is 2 gud n calm

  • Except now we do understand the nuclear membrane dissolving ... the lamins are phosphorylated and so the membrane breaks up into smaller vesicles

  • All cells in existence came from another cell.

Suck on that fact for a while.

  • ah, the wonders of god.

  • this would be awesome if it told you each stage within process of mitosis

  • the scary music throws off my concentration O_o...

  • "For some reason, the nuclear membrane disintegrates MAGICALLY"

  • Comment removed

  • GOD DID IT........haha just kidding.

  • NOW I CAN SLEEP. THANK YOU

  • mitorgasm.

  • videos like this make this stuff enjoyable to learn

  • middle school teachers... Learn to use the Internet

  • Beautiful

  • "in a microscopic tug of war"

    Brilliant.

  • now, i believe in God...

  • @jethro0903 why is it relate to god?

  • @Tl82T Because the phenomenal complexity of mitosis is just another thing that points to the fact that life couldn't have happened by chance. Abiogenesis requires more "faith" than belief in an Intelligent Designer!

  • @jethro0903 Very smart ;)

  • @jethro0903 lol I suggest you watch how genetic diseases occur during meiosis. its completely random chance if something goes wrong and the child is left with horrible deformities. really see the hand of god there.

  • @jethro0903 Technically science proves lots of religions incorrect.. not starting a belief war here. Just saying literally 99% of scientists don't believe in religion.

  • if the chromatids are pulled apart how do they become chromosomes again?

  • @MikeyIV

DNA forms into chromosome only when cell is dividing. when cell is divided chromosomes which are DNA folded over proteins will unfold. And don't forget that each sister chromatid that is pulled apart is one chromosome. When DNA is replicated before a cell division it folds with proteins to form chromosomes again and because it is duplicated we see two sister chromatids paring up and form a pair of chromosome. I hope I am not confusing you ;))

  • @branhamlake: just out of curiosity but what are the differences between metaphase and telophase in the cell cycle?

  • @MikeyIV There is spare genetic material floating around in the cytoplasm surrounding the nucleus which us made to finish the chromosome

  • Dr. Amarin may have explained this quite well to me but this video sure helps

  • i understand it better now

  • why didnt my prof show us this...

  • haha keandre

  • this sucks

    who is bluewafflecakes

  • this sucks

  • watched this video for Mr. Rosbach's science class :D

  • THIS IS VERY HELPFUL

  • watched this is class, hey miss ball

  • 1:30 big butt.

  • Came in handy when I lost my revision sheet

  • We use this video at secondary school

  • I think I'm going through mitosis

  • @locdog187 lool

  • @leedonaldt yeah...... are we being taught something or being scared, but then again halloween is coming up...

  • that means that mitosis is if two cells seperate(cell division) ?

  • [iminent led][/led][iminent=4sPLzlR59l2] ...? Why can't my teacher just teach me this stuff first?

  • why is the word porn in the uploaders name?

  • @lilwayne2671

    i agree......

  • I UNDERSTAND ALL LIFE NOW. THANK YOU 1:30 VIDEO.

  • @dustyknapp I wanna butt-fuck you.

  • @IGOLDBERGI word.

  • CMS SCIENCE!

  • @Mr13Cupcake castro middle school dumbs up

  • YO ELMWOOD SCIENCE CLASS!

  • Internet is much loved. So much better than school. Hey! Here's a thought, learn things off YouTube, and just skip school completely! Thumbs Up if you agree! :D

  • "tug of war" WTF LOL.

  • Omg this video explained it 13589 x better then my teacher did -_-

  • psych 2110 forced me to watch this

  • I´ts tru, I understand much beter when i se the video here, my professor waz fuck up

  • Did anyone elses notice the uploaders username... Lol

  • "With mitosis complete--" you get a potato.

  • @HammyHannahsaur

Indeed. I feel like saying to the weirdo, "With Mitosis complete, the nuclei..."

No, they don't. You are left with a potato... Strange person...

  • God at work.

  • I love how it's like "meanwhile"...like its a story...

  • Comment removed

  • can't believe is was happening in our body.....

  • very informative. helpful to visual-spatial learners.

  • Does anyone recognize the ideas here? Think of the movie ..... The Matrix. The filmmakers used ideas from the concept of mitosis. Remember the Centennials?

  • hahaha

  • This was really helpful! I just wish that you took more time and pointed out the stages.

  • And all this breath taking design was caused by the blind evolution. Yeah, sure.

  • Oh Yeh Brahhhzzz

  • Mitosis is bitchin'

  • ORGANISMS DO NOT CREATE PERFECT CARBON COPY BECAUSE OF **ERRORS** IN DNA COPY PROCESS, ERRORS TAKE AWAY INFORMATION AND REPLACE IT WITH GARBAGE SO HUMAN GENOME IS DETERIORITATING RAPIDLY AND PROVES EVOLUTION IS FALSE AND A LIE

  • @hobblehonker and your a retard

  • @hobblehonker STOP YELLING AT ME

  • such a cute baby

  • internet is better than professors.

  • @musiclover0394 but these information and videos made my professors. Youre absolutely wrong.

  • @musiclover0394 made by*

  • we BELIEVE! because we can't know things that happened eons and eons of years. and if god created us, who created god?? we humans only understand what we are exposed to we can't understand beyond. we were here to know that everything is either the result of accumulation of other things or somebody created those things.. BUT OTHER THINGS CAN DEFIITELY BE TRUE!

  • @nadermekadis How about the miller-urey experiment? google it.

  • Some People here would say that we are evolved animals, that were fungi, that were bacteria.. in short, that eukaryotes were once prokaryotes.. okay that's good enough and it makes sense. BUT WHERE DID prokaryotes come from? another creatures.. maybe organelles. but again where did those come from?? we can't trace everything.. we can't know everything!!

  • @doodl3bugg13 Guys, nothing makes much of sense. I'm not going to take sides on whether god really exists or we are the evolved bacteria. Everyone tends to believe something, follows it and believes it. it is all a believing system. Evolution makes sense..but not necessarily true. God would make sense to, because for every creation there is a creator. YES!!! Things evolve over time.. but who made that very beginning?

  • like this if your fucked for your exam

  • Who created mother nature you dumb ass's??? Without god mother nature doesnt exist use your brains and mabye next time you'll be thank full God.

  • @TheLibyanforever who created this troll post? you!

  • Thanks for explaining my entire biology class in 90 seconds.

  • What happens to the organelles?

  • hey writing a grade 10 bio exam... thanks for posting this it really helped

  • I love these professionally done animations of various processes. Like Fenderprecision stated, I learned more in 1.5 minutes than a several hours of Lab. I wish there were more of this type of videos

  • The beauty of God's work!

  • @hauzzer The beauty of Nature. Not God.

  • @doodl3bugg13 says who?

  • @saberwing505 Says me. And every other itelligent atheist who has come to realize that God is a load of bullshit.

  • @doodl3bugg13 itelligent lol

  • @saberwing505 Yep! God --- Lol.

  • @doodl3bugg13 Just because someone has a different theory than you do, doesn't mean you should bother them.

  • @saberwing505 True. I just felt like being mean......And right.

  • @doodl3bugg13 mean yes, right no.

  • @saberwing505 Hey, you never know until you drop dead!

  • @doodl3bugg13 exactly, so his theory could be just as right as yours could be.

  • @saberwing505 But mine is more likely.

  • @doodl3bugg13 why is that?

  • @saberwing505 What makes more sense? A magical man in the sky who poofed you into exsistence, calls you a sinner from the day you're born, loves everyone.....except of course, gays.....and people from other religions.....and the occasional skeptic, OR science?

  • @doodl3bugg13 the same science that always changes. And if you even dare to say stuff like that i don't believe in gravity or modern technology. And if you were to have hard evidence of atheism, i'd believe you, but there isn't. creationism is another theory. You believe that we just poofed into existance, I believe that someone or something created us. what's the big difference.

  • @saberwing505 It's the same principle! We both believe that life was created when something came out of nothing. But if God created everything, who created God? And I never said you didn't believe in gravity....you'd have to be a complete idiot for that. And the very fact that there is no evidence is in fact evidence to support athiesm.

  • @doodl3bugg13 I believe that God was the beginning like it says in the bible. I guess we'll never know what happened before that.

  • @saberwing505 Yaaa.........:*

  • @doodl3bugg13 Who created God? fallacious question. It's like saying Who married the bachelor? God is eternal. We biblical Christians don't believe in a created God, in fact believing in created gods is a SIN.

  • @dline97 Who did marry the Bachelor anyway? I've never watched that show, so I don't understand the comparison. And so I guess trying to apply logic and reasoning to God's existance and religion is a sin? How can you not believe in a created God? That just shows that you're too afraid to think about it further because it might disprove something in your precious religion. That's like believing in milk, but not cows!!! Or bananas but not banana trees! Stupid....

  • @doodl3bugg13 "Who married the bachelor"? this wasn't a reference to the T.V show. This was a question to show you how illogical your question was. Because if someone married the bachelor , then he wouldn't be a bachelor, the question self destructs. just like "who created the creator (GOD)". if someone created the creator (God) then God would not be God. Therefore if there is a God then God must be eternal. DNA=INFO were ther is info we must assume an informer. y do u not believe in God?

  • @dline97 Ok, I understand now.

But I still don't believe. I don't believe in God because they very idea is ridiculous to me. Think about mythology, for example, people in Roman times genuinely believed in Hera, Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite, etc... but today, we know they were only myths - Made up stories meant to give the public hope, a place to put blame, and explain the natural world that they didn't fully understand. I see the God of today in the same way. Just made up, like Santa Claus.

  • @doodl3bugg13 buddy, i dont wanna start no religious shit, but there's proof, miracles, things, unexplained which proove that he exists.

  • @andrew789987 There are probably logical explainations for all of them. It's only proof if it's 100% infalliable. And my guess is it's definitely not.

  • thankies :P

  • thanx

  • gracias me ayudo en mi tarea de expocision dedo arriba

  • is anyone else scared by the music in this vid?

  • @leedonaldt YEAH!

  • @leedonaldt

    Umm...I think EVERYONE :L

    Freaky...Kinda scared now :L

  • i don't understand it, in this animation it shows that chromosomes break in two and each cell has one chromatid and it later gets duplicated, but in my book it says that in interphase dna is duplicated and it's 4n not 2n, and so each cell gets one chromosome not a chromatid.

  • @Ladylyla It's 2 to the power of n. And the chromosomes do break in two - into its respective chromatids. Each cell has one chromatid in this animation but in real cells, the two new cells get 23 each. I think it's trying to explain that once the new cell is formed it undergoes interphase all over again.

  • CYTOKINESIS IS NOT PART OF MITOSIS!!!!

YOU STILL HAVE 1 CELL AFTER MITOSIS!

  • i have to watch this for bio..it helps but all i have to think of is dog porn to undertand the shit..nuff for me

  • this was a lot of help...thank you for uploading!

  • tanner2254, cell bio?

  • tanner2254, cell bio?

  • tanner2254, cell bio?

  • THANK YOUUUUU!

  • just incase anyone from my class found this same video I just have one thing to say...... CATS ARE GREAT

  • Why do I find this hard to jackoff to?

  • Cool !

This video make me understand in Mitosis.

  • I would have liked to have posted a link to this on my blog for my 8th grade class. Too bad I can't because of the course language some posters have chosen to use on it.

  • This subject ruined my college life.

  • so did mine.

  • My science teacher played your video in our class

  • @jschwa125 haha ya my teacher played it too!! :D

  • Lol, SUCH a simplification... but good to get the general point across! Anyone need help? :P

  • @cardcaptorzlove my biology lecturer uses YouTube videos to demonstrate what he is explaining on numerous occasions, it can be a very reliable source as long as you already have a certain understanding of it.

  • @PenguinMan272 yep, exactly, it's useful for demonstration. what i am saying is it can't be a primary/major source, so our expectations shouldn't be that high for these kinds of videos.

  • i agree the names of the stages would be more helpful

  • it'd be nice if they actually said the names of the stages...

  • what is centrioles? what's the different between centrioles and spindle?

  • So I herd u liek mitosis.

  • I thought once prohase begines the chromosomes are condensed are called chromotids. I have a bio test on Fri and you are confusing me and this video is missing detailed steps from a college level perspective. dislike :(

  • @Preciousb001luv lol, the video is correct. chromosome is the condensed form of replicated DNA, and has 2 chromatids which join at the centromere. chromatid are two identical copies of DNA. i hope this clears it up. if you want "detailed steps from a college level perspective", you should check biology books, not youtube videos.

  • To be one 100% correct, once the cell enters Prophase they are called chromatids because the diploid DNA strands are visible under a light microscope. And people post videos like this so others can see what they have read come to life and get a better understanding YOUTUBE IS A RESOURECE not my SOURCE. And if someone is going to post a video about mitosis why not include everything about mitosis.

  • @Preciousb001luv what i said was basically the same thing, you can see the chromatids because they are the condensed form of DNA. whatever, i say a = b you say b = a; same thing, i'm not going to spend my time arguing which one is "100% correct". and about resources, i dont care what you use, everyone has their own style. my point was youtube is not a place for finding detailed scientific information, use common sense.

  • No, A dose not equal B when your in Grad school. You’re the one that is confused. And YES YouTube gives details about a lot of topics but this video is not one of them for me. Don’t take it personal use your own sense and get off mine.

  • @Preciousb001luv nope, i am nowhere near being confused. put "youtube" as one of your references in your reports and see what happens. whatever, this conversation is just a waste of time, I wish you good luck with your studies.

  • @cardcaptorzlove Watch your tone.

  • @Greekguy824 my intention was to clear out the confusion, but i agree, i should have been more careful about my tone.

  • TAKE OFF THIS STUPID MUSIC

  • Umm. Actually the middles of the strands of the chromosomes walk along the protein fibers towards the centrioles.

  • The music is pretty creepy at the start of the video.

  • this is like stalking music!

  • thanks for this video...its exam time 4 me ...it gonna help me a lot

  • it wud hv been better if each stages in the mitosis wer explained

  • 2 weeks of studying this shit in biology didnt help me understand mitosis. but a 1 and a half minute youtube video did. word.

  • @Fenderprecision51 thats because teachers fail

  • @Fenderprecision51 for real man this is amazing got a final tomorrow, this shit actually helped
