  • I love this video. I often come back to hear it again. :)

  • Were you using an external delay or the internal one?

  • @douro20 I used a delay from Roland DEP-5. To answer your question below, the Syntochestra is not a "real" synthesizer. Basically it is a preset synth combined with a simple polyphonic section.

  • This synth does have a very nice electric piano sound- similar to that of the Kustom 88.

  • Wasn't this the only real synth Farfisa made?

  • This is Farfisa heaven! And I think God's on the other end of that pair of hands!

  • i want to trying recreate this sounds on my synth

  • Good instrument

  • seriously... fuck minimoog (I love minimoog), this thing is amazing!!!

  • lovely thing!

  • what a lovely sound it make from it year 1975 with delay wow won me over :)

  • A Zenith of a synth, you lucky bastard!

  • Very beautiful sounds... seems something between ARP SOLINA and ARP PRO SOLOIST...

    c.

  • it reminds me some tv shows themes I could heard in the 70's :)

  • @Theotim92

And I love these sounds... nostalgy !! :)

  • @Theotim92

Yep; this and similar synthesizers were mainstays of television music back in the 1970s.

  • enfin un démo digne de ce nom, bravo superbe .

  • Excellent man

  • This would be really nice for a prog rock band, or some retro fantasy film soundtrack. So many possibilities, all gold.

  • I can definitely hear some GOBLINS in there!

  • it's my first synthesizer of my life...thanks for post..i have a wood version..very rare..

  • My English is very bad...

I have the same synthesizer. Whould you tell me more informatoin about "POLY PITCH" and "MONO TRACK" on the rear panel ; and how I can use this?

    Thanks!

  • @sergioavia POLY PITCH globally tunes the polyphonic part of the instrument. MONO TRACK changes the key scaling (i.e., setting larger or smaller ranges than half-step between each key).

  • this one also seems to be brought to earth by UFO! what a fantastic sound!

  • Gorgeous,ethereal sounds!

  • Nice sounds! Thanks for sharing bro.

  • Say it 'syntorcherstra' what a great name!

  • According to the YT count, I am the 39, 601st viewer!

I am very happy to have the honour! This is absolute Genius!

  • GOBLIN?

  • damn.. this thing sounds good

  • I think that is cool

  • So much character. Very sPaCeY + psychedelic. I could see playing with that is very inspiring. With a little phaser + stereo delay the sound is out of this world!

  • helloo! 1 question! the wood case is identic or this?? thank

  • Anybody have one for sale?

  • Great video footage, enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing.

    ~ iAD

  • Great vid, but you should have demonstrated how it does the best acoustic piano any subtractive synth ever tried to imitate.

  • im so jealous - this sounds amazing- i have been going all analog and looking for all the odd stuff outside all the usual big boys- moog roland oberheim etc- stuff like this the logan even the crumar performer intrigue me more but this is really that classic mid 70s sound ala schulze td jarre etc- brilliant

  • Nice playing !!!! It`s like Mindphaser of Klaus Schulze from 1976 from album Moondawn . Beautiful!!!!

  • love i t , would like to buy one

  • nice!

as far as i can remember the only one i know who used the synthorchestra was pascal languirand in inesperdistan and i wondered wich synth made that incredible sound, i want one!!!

  • Nochmal Hi ,

...meine erste Kiste ...mit WEM Copiecat ....Hmmm.. ;-))

hast auch gut FX druff gehabt

All the best from Düsseldorf ( Germany )

    Mr.Ringhausen

  • You now have another fan Mr!

  • the ASHRA " New Age of earth & Correlations " Sounds , very good

  • Simply beautiful!!

  • Now how freaking hard would it be to reissue something this cool? It's got an easy physical package design and is very versatile sounding, not like the crap they make today. 5 stars!

  • @paulj0557

Easy, but the market for a keyboard that only does THIS in the modern age would be too small in order to be profitable. Plus, it would be expensive if it were 100% analog.

  • String synths are sexy synths

  • Cool. I want one. _Are they for sale any place?_...it may not look like much...but it looks pretty cool!

  • ma come cazzo suoni..!!!???????

  • Fukin' awesome!

  • quanto ho desiderato quel gioiello della Farfisa... molti anni fa. grazie per questo post...

  • DAMN DAMN WHY ADD THIS STOOPID FUC KIN DELAY???

  • Wov! Such a space sound !

  • Super son

  • Yeah one just went for more than I wanted to pay again..that thing does sound excellent. I'm thinking of making a hybrid with some parts I have lying around that should get some similar sounds with an sh1000's guts and a crumar trilogies with a DK600's synth channels in place of the cards on the trilogy :-). Should be interesting frankensynth. hehe. But that think is COOL for the small number of controls! They really packed a lot of musical potential in there. Love to see schematics of it.

  • great demo!

i have one of these, wooden version. the mono half is simply fantastic, expecially the trumpet and flute preset with much cutoff and portamento. the poly part isn't bad either, but if you are just looking for a string machine there are better sounding ones around imho (roland rs505, solina).

  • Great sounds !

  • do you know anything about farfisa ts 600? thanks

  • How old is your Farfisa ? It sounds great ...

  • @Maaaacs from 1975

  • @AnalogAudio1 O.K. I wish one day I'll get a farfisa, I have the Nord Stage, the farfisa 'included' is a Compact, for me it sounds a bit too cheesy

  • The stuff you were doing around 5:00 sounds a bit like an ARP Pro-Soloist (in the upper voice mostly; does this keyboard split???) - can you give any info on what the waveforms, osciallator settings, or presets are for the sounds you're getting in that section?

  • @rizz7604 It does not have split. But you can layer mono and poly, like in the video. I can't remember the settings exactly, but it's easy to see in the video, which preset tabs were pressed and also the slider positions.

  • @AnalogAudio1 I like the sound on 5:00. Is there a farfisa syntorchestra vsti?

  • That sounds fucking amazing. Nice find.

  • This is a fantastic demonstration of this amazing Farfisa by AnalogAudio1 and well deserves all the views it has received. Magnificent!

  • Sounds so much like Tangerine Dream.

  • Great Demo, thanks ...

  • Good lord, can this thing put out some smooth sounds. Totally blown away.

  • This synth is playing By Claudio Simonetti in the film Phenomena of Dario Argento

    Is Fantastic film and soundtrack

  • @LOveERDos Are you sure? This film is from the eighties... to me, it sounds like he played PPG Wave / Waveterm on that soundtrack.

  • It is a very sweet sounding machine. Love it :)

  • thats nice i like it it have any basic grands

  • I like your computer keyboard...... looks better than the bland tan color most are....

  • this makes me dream...

  • Nearly 19,000 views well deserved, AnalogAudio1

  • @nickhirst999

Nearly 38, 000 views well deserved! Fantastic demo of a fantastic keyboard. In a word Fantastic!

  • Great video and playing. I liked the way you started it. It's a fantastic sounding instrument. Those tabs below the keys look like they could be very fragile. Really an interesting design though. I can definitely hear Klaus in there.

  • soarornor:

    Fancy bumping into you, here!!!

    This is fantastic isn't it?!!

  • Yeah I dig it. I want one!

  • Thanks AnalogAudio1! There is no information I could find anywhere on the 4. I really like your demo the syntorchestra sounds beautiful. Syntorchestra 4 sounds great as well but maybe not quit as good as the original. Want to swap ? : )

  • I have just picked up a 'Syntorchestra 4' I can't seem to find any information on how the different versions differ. Any help would be appreciated.

  • @CARDBOARDCITYRECORDS The Syntorchestra 4 is a completely different instrument. Of course it sounds completely different. If you have one - congratulations, it's very rare!

  • I'm looking for one of these - great demo..

  • sounds like u might as well play a lead

  • wow, great vintage sounds !!!

  • I loved these sounds when I was very young. I remember hearing Heart of Glass and asking about the swirling noise. (Was it a Polymoog? With a phaser?) I didn't know about stringsynths and have only found out on YT!

  • yummy :P

  • Beautiful tone! I love Farfisas but must admit I've never heard of one of these!

  • Nice playing. Enjoyed it.

  • a delay on a whole string orchestra?

  • @smokesometea

    yes! On the whole "Syntorchestra".

  • cok guzel bir aletmis superrr

  • Seriously fat tone man

    damn nice

  • If you make attention at the filters the sounds are very veeery nice

    (I have a Moog modular)

  • Pretty sure this made an appearance on the Besombes / Rizet lp 'Pôle' - which is fantastic if you haven't heard it!

  • What did you use to make these cool looking old title screens at the beginning of these videos?

  • Looks like he filmed it from his PC Monitor

  • Beautiful, i love the part @ 4:42 !

  • yes it sounds really mystic, magic and a bit scary :D

  • That was an excerpt from Klaus Schulze's album "Moondawn".

  • sorry don't know him but thx for the info :)

  • That is so beautiful. I need one!

  • Smooth.

  • Aha, bei Ashra bzw. Ash Ra Tempel ..., und Vangelis Albedo 0,39 ...

  • MaGiKo!!!

  • Dude, this is magic. Portamento, VCOs, VCF, Mono+Poly and a bunch of good voices inside a casing this small. I'm happy for you, dude! This baby kicks Microkorg/Alesis Micron asses! Take care of it!

  • Wow, I love it.

  • Hi, can you make a "demo" with the piano preset?

  • Hey ¡I have oneof these!... at my parent's junkroom.

As soon as I bought it (together with a Korg Sigma) second hand I got married and moved away, so I never used it.

It's time to rescue it ;-) but... can you suggest me any amplifier to use it with?

  • I had one of these back in the 80's - when they were... well... not so cool. I hate to even think of what we did to it...

  • The sound forom1:34 to 1:57 is awesome...

    I love these sounds...

    I must have one!

  • look at klauss com ar ,maybe you like some stuff

  • I'm reminded of some of the old Tangerine Dream stuff . . .

  • Best regards for your choice!

You were right... such sounds are REALLY unique! No other keyboards has these leads and pads you show here. It sounds really heavenly sometimes. Really best regards! I never heard such things from an electric synthesizer.

  • Dude, don't think I've ever been so impressed by a synth. I love all those melodies and chord sequences too!

  • dude do you wanna sell this?!?!?!?! it rocks so hard

  • I'm a huge Klaus Schulze fan and really enjoyed the "Moondawn" sounds you were using between the 4 and 6 minute marks here. I also heard some similar sounds to Manuel Gottsching (Ashra)'s album "New Age Of Earth" played here. Great demonstration of the Syntorchestra!!!

  • thanks... I also love these two albums - on these the Syntorchestra was heavily used!

  • For such innocent & cheesy looks, it sounds amazing! this is it, the ultimate 70's synth sounds.

    I can definitely hear 'Moondawn'!!!!

  • The ARP Soloist spawned many look-alikes from competing manufacturers. But this one is too cool, after all it is a Farfisa.

  • Truly fantastic. I want to not be at work and at home in front of my synths RIGHT NOW.

  • Fantastic !!!!

The mindphaser (second track of Klaus Schulze Moondawn album ) string and voice sound !!

I would to approach this sound with a modern synh ...

  • doesn't jmj us one of these

  • no. What the Eminent was for JMJ, was the Syntorchestra for Klaus Schulze. He used it a lot in the seventies.

  • i want to buy a delay and a reverb but im extremely afraid to digitize my signal...

  • you can't avoid digitizing your signal today. A great delay is the Roland DEP-5 (is heard in my Roland SH-1000 video). It sounds warm and it has knobs. And it's cheap!

  • Maravilloso sonido. Espectacular. Gran instrumento.

    ACS.

  • This is the real sound ! Better than all of these modern digital synthesizers. It´s fantastic.

  • Isn't this an all-transistor machine?

  • Really great stuff!

  • the sound is better than of a synthesizer. This would be great in a Progressive song... does somebody know if there is a progressive rock song with this instrument ?

  • Well, for example the album "Ashra - new age of earth" was recorded almost exclusively with the Syntorchestra. Or Klaus Schulze used it for the pads on the album "Moondawn". Yes, you can call their music progressive rock - or krautrock...

    great stuff.

  • I don't know what the keybordist used but parts of the album Liliam High by the band Twin Age sound a lot like this demo between 4:30 and 6:00. Hard album to find but i really love it.

  • The sounds between 4:30 and 6:00 are definitely in style of Klaus Schulze's - Moondawn album. I know this album well, that's because I played this passage....

  • Simply Beautiful sound..New Age, progressive style.

  • This is an excellent video. The synth sounds beautiful, and your playing/improvisation is really great and enjoyable to listen to. I have one of these, but it's been put away while I've worked with other gear. I'm taking it out again to explore its sounds. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • thanks... :-)

  • beautiful sounding board...you are very fortunate to have such a fantastic machine. Use it well!

  • thanks...

  • what a beautiful sound. no words.

  • I love this machine !

  • i cellho di legno!!!

il mio synth preferito...adoro i suoni da fantascenza!

  • yes, some Italian keyboards are fantastic... Farfisa made a good job (as with the Polychrome, a demo comes soon...).

  • It´s good but my Eminent310 & Korg ES50 still kiks azz ;D

  • yes, these are cool instruments. I have an Eminent 310 too.

  • Amazing sound!!! I've posted this on

    switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot . com

  • thanks... :-)

  • 1:06 What an awesome lead sound! Especially when you play the lowest "C"-key.

  • Hallo

    verkaufst Du dieses Instrument?

    Gruss

  • no way... Gruss

  • Wow. I've been searching for info on this instrument for some time. Finally stumbled onto this vid. I didn't realize how much of the Moondawn sound came from this one synth. Thanks! Now where can I find one cheap that still works? He he.

  • great vintage sounds

  • Wow. Never have seen or heard one of those before. Very cool instrument. I used to have a FARFISA FAST 3 ... wish I had one of these!

  • I love my synthorchestra ;)

  • Very nice,thanks!

  • thank you for the nice comment... :-)

  • Amazing video! Very complete demonstration of an astoundishing classic machine. Five stars!

  • thanks! :-)

  • Sehr beeindruckender Sound!

    5*****

  • danke! :-)
