PSX version makes TFV look really bad, the orginal is much better without all the CG scences and that crappy final score result, when i saw it i thought, 'wtf?! thats sooo fat and cheap that even a 12 yr old can design'
Sry, i mean the CG Cutscenes. It just didnt give the right atmosphere when watching it, like the intro and the ending, which kinda makes it look slow. Prefer the Saturn ver cutscenes, fast and like your in the vitural world in the game itself.
Hey, did anyone here unlock the bad ending? I look into the CG file by using gameshark, there is one clip looks like a bad ending, which was the Guardian blow up, but the Vambrace was caught in the explosion and end up drifting into the deep space. I never manage to unlock this scene in the game...
Thats right, and if you ladies leave my island, if you survive recruit training, you will be a weapon. You will be a minister of death praying for war.
I ve played through Thunder Force V dozens of times - never realized that mistake. Still a great game with an even better OST. Do you know Einhänder for PSX? I got the japanese original version. Even better shooter imho with some strategic elements (limited and collectable weapons from enemies). A must-have for any PSX player.
You should give it a try. Its hard, but its fair. The Bosses act a bit like r-type: the have different stategies and attack patterns and loose parts and armor when shot. imho, its one of the best shooters iv ever played. The collectable weapons system is just awsome. Depending on ur difficulty level and lifes lost, u gain 2-3 extra ships after u beat the final boss and some rare extra-weapons to start again.
Good point. I had a chance to see the Saturn version of the escape scene on YouTube. For some reason, I find the Saturn version, with its real-time graphical detail mixed with the background music to be.......more fitting.
And the MASTER mode?

All you have to do to get the bad ending is to not kill the final boss.

Well, that will be though, since I have to keep evading its attack till time is up(?). I guess I just can not hold that long. But thanks any way..
