they sound similar because neru is based of of miku, and uses miku's software, just programmed differently to sound different.

DEN=It is unexplained

DTM=Abbreviation for "Desktop Music". Its significance to Haku is undetermined.

Actually for a short time Neru existed before the Kagamine twins showed up, so she got the right to have 02 tattooed on her arm for a short time. It was only changed to DEN2 when the Kagamine twins were released onto the market.

Personally I hated Neru's high pitch Miku voice, so I guess it was a good thing Rin's voice was used instead when she showed up. That tomboyish voice that was created for her instead suits her character a lot more. :D
