if someone does not like this song they will taste my fist of B.O.C power i tattooed my right arm with the symbol of lead,Chronos,Roman god saturn, and of course this band. in one symbol
Here BOC do a fairly good cover of a "Leggat" (Leggat Brothers...Canadian band) original... Search for it here on Youtube...it's vastly superior in my opinion. Hugie Leggat (formerly with the Canadian band "Foot In Coldwater") teamed up with his brother Gordon Leggat in the short lived outfit.
BoC songs don't get played on the radio because of their dissenting and anti-mainstream ideas, the symbol is actually the alchemical symbol for lead - and in alchemy turning lead into gold is a metaphor for refining consciousness into its purest form. So you're close with that whole Jesus thing... I guess.
@graywolfmage actually I think the symbol for led is like a z with a seven through it. I think that this is just a cool made up symbol - but do not site me on this I may be wrong. Any symbolist out there in youtube land that can shed light??
I know that the symbol means. Jesus Christ is risen. Satan is a liar. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father but by him.
Actually this is a cover. The original song was done by the Legget Brothers in the 80's. Very difficult to find the original version though. If you do find their CD, it's worth a buy. Strong writing. I like both versions.
OMG!! I never heard this song before. I LOVE BoC, and i'd thought i heard all of their stuff. But ohh my. This song is... amazing! I am going to have to do some googling.
Nate---Yeah, "Club Ninja" has arguably been the "worst" BOC effort, but I've always thought it had some gems like this one. If you haven't heard it before, try "In The Presence of Another World" from "Imaginos". Eric at his 80s best.
I dunno. I feel like their worst effort was probably spectres. I'm a fan of heavier music though, and you can't expect a fan of motorhead and metallica to be that crazy about the BOC's lighter efforts. This is really an awesome song, does the BOC proud.
groovy--You probably are like me then. Nothing compares to the Cult's 1st 3 releases. Spectres the worst? Hmmm, would be tough for me to agree w/ you on that one. With cuts like Nosferatu & I Love The Night... It did have some WAY TOO Pop stuff, but then again, nothing ever came close to their Black & White era. I thought Imaginos was a valiant effort to do so, but still fell short. And yes, White Flags was a stellar song on an otherwise weak BOC release(IMO).
Spectures is my favorite, but I like "pieces" of other albums. Really, they are all pretty darn good.
I liked watching them in the 70's and early 80's. Therefore, it hurts me to see them with their line up today. I don't think Danny Miranda is with them anymore. I never like him as a "fit" with BOC. He was sloppy.
krsongs--Agreed. Spectres was always special in a way because the Cult was at the height of their "pop" fame. The world now knew them ala "Reaper", "Godzilla". Don't get me wrong, they were filling arenas before any of their pop success, & I sure wish more people were able to experience them at their "most furious best". OYFOOYK is a decent representation of that era, but cannot replicate the megaton-madness that went on inside those hallss of "madness". Quite right...
Yes, Spectres is my fav album too.:) Its special because it has all the sides of BOC that made them great; goth/horror theme in "Nosferatu", boogie in "Goin' thru the motions", Buck classics "Golden Years of Leather", "I love the night" and "Godzilla" and Albert's "Fireworks". There isnt one song I don't like there, which I cannot say about the other albums unfortunately.
this album was a little weak ,but not awful by any stretch of the imagination this song still has that melodic qualities of theirs that i love.
TAKE ME.....TAKE ME...AWAAAAAAAAAAY...YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

GO BOC! just started listening to this stuff. 70's-80's music kicks the shit out of the music today.

One of the most underated groups in the 70's. By the critics mostly.
