I was born in the 1970s, I love this guy (Sin Sisisamouth). The stupid khmer songs now a day are just B***LL SH***T. None of these newbies (artists) can sing. Khmer musics now a day are worse than the old days. The old days still rock!!! Preap Savath, Pich Chenda, and these new artists sound crappy!!! Khmer musics will never be the same again, only the memories of the golden voices are still alive among the many hearts and souls! The old artists were truly the Khmer genuine educated ones!
@vannakr25 . I agreed with you 10000%. Not just the way they sing but as well the way these dancers on the back stage as well. They dance worse the pole dancers do. Seriously, their fashions are poorly designed just like they got from the flea-market or the thrift stores. Why can't just be normal in the first place?
sorry darrenvkham...i have to hit up this one too...i visited cambodia last june and the bridge with the lions are still there as well as the government office that is in this picture...when we drove by on the new bridge it made me think of this song. great song!
Mr. Sin sisamout had already pass away before I was born. So that mean I am a new generation kid but can you guys imagine his voice? these days singers, no one can beat him. Unbeatable voice I like all his songs. He's really kiing.
@tatchomrern I really love this song so much. Mr Kong Bunchoeun is very good with everything. I have read so many many khmer books that he write. The books that he write is very good. When he go a way from Cambodia i never read his book that he write again. I have read book about his real life, very sad life. I don't know why the master of Cambodia need to kill him. He not do anything wrong. Who did wrong is the master of Cambodia. I already know he never come back, soooo sad.
To all Bong Phroun Khmer, Please! United. That is the only way to build the country. By listing to this song and a quick glance to the picture, you will understand what I really mean about it. I really love the country, but I can not do by myself. Thanks for posing the song.
Darrenvkham---I've always enjoyed all of your video posting. Great job and you have a really good taste in music. There's also one of samouth's classics, I can't think of the title, in late 60's, possibly early 70's...but it goes something like this:
" Kyom jong tae je dol prum likhet, del ban komhet veasna kyom.........", " Somneurch chom ork prum likhet euy...." Any idea?
i just got back from visiting sroke khmer...never had i thought that i would go but i wanted to meet my grandmother. now that i have witnessed the hardship of all our family, it brings tears to my eyes and it was a life changing experience. now all i do is listen to khmer music and miss the motherland. im already planning my next trip there. thanks for the wonderful music and video.
Many thanks for posting this beautiful song, which like so many of Sinn Sisamouth's masterpieces, captures so sweetly the spirit and soul of the Khmer people.
One early evening in 1993 I stood at the foot of the bridge next to the guarding lion, Cambodia was shattered by decades of war, but there were still scenes described in the song. The lion itself stood as if in defiance of the change of time and in melancholic witness to an undying love...
very poetic and descriptive of your writing..Yes, I was there not too long ago, and witnessed the lion stood as if in defiance of change of time...I miss Cambodia and our own people...They are very genuinely sweet, kind, and respectable people...This makes us so different from neigboring countries.

@jupiterg100 Yes, he was one of the greatest. I could never ever imagine all the countless good oldies that he made. He was amazing.
He left Cambodia due to a threatened from Svay Sitha, who wanted him dead, because he wrote a book about Tat Marina.

@tatchomrern Yes, that's right. I have read book about Tat Marina. She is his niece. I'm feel sooo sorry for her. I hate him soo much.
