  • i recently but the black fury and noticed it has a 4 on it and not a 5 do you perhaps know why?

  • @MrPS3Beast100 theres different size blades- 4 is smaller than 5. Theres 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 blade sizes on mepps' website

  • Would you suggest dressed or undressed?

  • best inline spinner on the market

  • It's true, anything will bite this lure. Even better when it's dressed.

  • I am just starting salmon fishing in NY, How do you work these for salmon and steel head? I bought a number three in yellow or orange. How long does the leader have to be?

  • Mepps is made by fenchies boo american made baits all tha way lake fork lures!

  • @MRbassmasterman Mepps is actually made here in America, though they do have other places around the world as they are a world wide bait company. The design may originally have been french, but Mepps are made in Antigo, WI. If the parts are made elsewhere, the lures are made in the US. Better than I can say for Rooster Tails, which last I heard are made in Mexico.

  • I've been shore fishing in Simcoe recently as well. I just bought one of these, so wish me luck!

  • what colors would you suggest that i use in somewhat murky water?

  • how much was the spinner?

  • You know nothing..

  • Amaaaazing? Lol.

#5 is sometimes v good for pike though. I have caught a salmon on the #4. #3/4 are good for trout. You are right, it is a decent lure. Comet blade. Mepps should make the BF again with the silver blade and the black-fury sticker. Those are great. I like to demolish BFs and rebuild w custom components. Originals too light. Only one colour bead on smaller sizes... You only get that bead body in the larger sizes. Shame.

  • Check out the pike I caught on an orange black fury on the Mepps home page. It's listed under my name. Mepps work GREAT for shallow river pike!

  • Well, u dont have to go to far north to get big pike, i only fish for pike and my hotspot is Cooks Bay, Lake Simcoe, huge pike, lots of them, just a great place to fish, i use a 3/8 ounce white spinnerbait, as for Little Lake in Barrie, does it Allow boats, u know with motors, or strictly electric and sail, plz reply and if u could tell me were the boat launch is tht would be great.

  • hey, i dont know about huge pike but around simcoe i have had luck with the medium to small sized pike. little lake has boat rentals and the same place has a boat launch. there are no rules against motors so thats no problem. when your going down the road called little lake drive your going to see a sign on your left that says cedar park campground and trailer park. go to the place AFTER that sign. the guys a lot nicer and the launch is better. tight lines

  • Hey! You wanna realy, realy good lure try out Blue Fox Vibrax! It´s The best spinner lure i know! =D Vibrax works on Eny fish!

  • ohh ya im a huge fan of the vibrax. works beautiful. i love the new purple colour.

  • @cheesewald I have one

  • why are you using 5.Like are you fishing salmon our something

  • i find that salmon and trout hit size 0 - 3. i leave the larger sizes for pike, bass and muskie. muskie especially want to hit something bigger like a 5.

  • if u like these, u should also try a blue fox dbl bladded spinner. but mepps is great too

  • Baught this lure yesterday used it today and got 3 pike all around 3 foot but i have number 4 and mine had a black and red dress on it

  • oh yeh the dressed ones are nice, but i like to keep to the basics. always work for me.

  • Walmart around here only carries the #4 Black Fury. I'd have to hit gander Mtn to get a #5 kinda sucks.

  • wal-mart has one in line spinner i forgot which brand but it 1/16 oz. and its killer

  • Black Fury has been one of the best lures to use as well as the comet minnow. The rapala hot steel is great for bass.

  • iv never had a chance to try the rapala hot steel, but the comet minnow works magic. thanks for the tip :)

  • basically scarborough ut ill go any where for quality fishing

  • try little lake in Barrie, or the kawartha lakes in peterborough. its always good fishing there but if u want bigger pike you have to go really far north, its just the way it is.

  • im going for pike , you got any spots you know of i live in canada too

  • i go to little lake which is in Barrie. its pretty close and has nice size pike, walleye and bass. if you could tell me your town/city i could give you a bit more info.

  • pike

  • can u get this at bass pro shops? where did you get this one

  • oh yeh bass pro shops has these, iv also seen these at wal mart and cabelas. great bait, try the number 5 or smaller. what fish are you going for ?
