  • I never knew that Rick and Ray had gotten together until now. It stands to reason that some of the early and finest progressive artists would have common ground.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • It's clear these guys are heavily influenced by Black Sabbath.

  • @tomthefunky Black Sabbath is a white trash meat eating son of a bitch low life band and anyone that listens to such so-called music is another insincere brainless pile of dogshit. All white trash people are sons of bitches that need to be exterminated along with banksters, Jesuits, bishops, Cardinals, some freemasons, some jews, most lucifereans. p.s. the bible and the koran are boring works of plagiarized art.

  • @augustmaquet: I've got an idea. When the next Black Sabbath concert rolls into your nearest town, why don't you go into the parking lot and tell their fans exactly what you think of them. And there are plenty of bars all over America which cater to the white trash crowd. You are entirely welcome to enter those establishments and tell them what you told me. You're not going to do that are you? No, you'll remain an internet tough guy.

  • Absolutely fantasic

  • I like this. It has a nice folkish sound to it. The bass is a little to loud at times though.

  • mix is a tad steam bass heavy

  • Fortunately he quit this band

  • Does anyone know the name of this song?

  • Yeah, what Garrington said, and Gooseberry!

    Love this clip.

  • @regardez403 The Track is "Till The Sun Comes Shinning Through" off of the Dragonfly album

  • ohhh, he din not imagine, that he was going to play in one of the best albums

  • @castletriglav.

You obviously know NOTHING about music so why dont you just stfu and go away to your little world somewhere on another planet

  • @castletriglav History proved you're wong

  • Beautiful harmony. ..England's answer to the Kingston Trio? Rick is only about 19 here, and appears not to have eaten for weeks!

  • Bunch of morons, if you dont like it dont watch it dwimer, mickthetosser et al.

  • Was there ever in the history of popular music a squarer peg in a rounder hole?

  • no wonder i never purchased a single Strawbs album... thank god i saved my money... geez...

  • wat is this hippy stoner folky lucky charms faggety ass crap anyway?

  • Rick's thinking "Good thing this chair has a back...I'm about to fall asleep!" Good song though.

  • This is such a rare piece of footage, I hope you've stored it on CD and placed it in a fireproof safe, this is truly unique!

  • Love the Tony Hooper / Dave Cousins harmony. Wow, what a sound. It's right up there with Clarke / Hicks / Nash.

  • Wakeman only looked like he had white hair with the intense stage lighting of the Yes gigs.

  • This is so good that its freakin good. Wakeman soothes.

  • This is glorious! I am going to have to investigate The Strawbs.

  • @mnbv990

Check out "where is this dream of your youth"

  • you can hear the complexity of rick"s playing- he"s aching to give it some progtastic, more adventurous playing! i agree-thank god he found yes! it was right for him.

  • Didn't Rick have almost white hair with YES in the 70's? maybe i'm imagining it

  • Hmmm? Maybe you're thinking of Edgar and Johnny Winter?

  • @rosskstar Maybe with his sparkly c ape he wore it threw more light onto his blond hair

  • lucky he found YES

  • I gotta admit Im a Wakeman fan, more than Strawbs, but thanks for posting. I've heard him play with them on record, but neer seen any footage till now.

  • Comment removed

  • They were great at Hampton Court Palace. They played a 30 minute set prior to Rick. First night Dave's voice was a bit shakey early. 2nd night was much better.

  • horrible! funny though

  • superb!

  • Too bad you can barely hear Rick play. This was his start of something BIG>

  • Gorgeous piece of history.

  • Rick Wakeman doesn't look the least bit grumpy! What's the matter with the bugger?

  • Damn, I can't even tell that Dave Cousins is one of those guys! Of course I've only known of him since about 2003. Seen him with Strawbs about 5 times

  • Cousins has beard and green waist coat !!

  • Thanks!! That is one amazing piece of history there.

  • About 12 years I auditioned for a wedding band that Chas Cronk also auditioned for and I got the job. The band was Long Island based and played the New York area.
