Obama is claiming the bombing of Libya is to protect it's citizens from some tyrant, but we can see here that U.S. citizens can just as easily, be ordered by the authorites, and those who control them, the wealthy, and their lackies, the politicians, to attack citizens, when they feel threatened.

You have your story a little wrong, Allison and Jeffrey were protestors. Bill and Sandra were not, they were going to class. And the man waving the flag in the picture that you say is John Filo, is not John Filo. That is Alan Canfora, John Filo took the picture. John Filo also took the picture of Mary Ann Vecchio crying over Jeffrey Miller's body.
Sandy Scheuer was going either on her way to or from speech class. She is buried ten feet from my grandparents, so I reminded of Kent State everytime I visit my grandparents grave in Youngstown. It is horrible that anybody would forget what happened. And if anybody blames those who died because they were protesting, they are just misinformed about the actual event.
Think about the message that this tragic event sent to the teens and children of the era: Protest, question authority, think for yourself, and your government will shoot you. Chilling and oppressive don't even begin to characterize it. So, have there been many significant protests in this country since those teens and children have become adults? Unquestioning compliance is pervasive.
no they didn't. no one ever got in trouble for this. and what sucked is one of the students that were shot and killed, wasn't even a prostestor. he was on his way to another class
@SuramiFox Even you have it wrong because more than one student was not a protestor. I believe, in fact, that only Allison and Jeffrey were actually active protestors that day. Sandy was not. And I think you are referring to Bill when you say that he just left a class building. Sandy and Bill both were almost 400 feet from the guard troops at the time of their deaths, leaving class buildings.
Did the shooters ever do jail time? How did they rule it? I was 2 when this happened, and remember hearing about this in grade school, but never knew any of the details. It amazes me that this happened, and I can't think of any other story like this, where cops or Nat'l Guard just opened fire on protestors of any kind.
The girl kneeling over Jeffrey Miller was a teen-age runaway from Miami, FL. Because of this photo, she was forced to go into hiding because our government declared her a threat to national security.
The students were hurling debris and the cannisters back at the guardsman. Whether it is true or not, one of the guardsmen claims that he heard some student had a gun and that's when they opened fire.
@cowboysfan782008 THose kids would have killed someone or burned down the entire school and the city if it got out of hand. The troops did their job. The riot was over. The students were asked to go home or back to class, instead, they wanted to riot.
@1STACCS two of the students were not part of the riot at all. Jeff Miller was actually part of Kent's ROTC program, and was simply watching the events happen, and Sandy Scheuer was just walking to class. Alison Krause was trying to get out of the riot with her boyfriend because it was getting to violent. Bill was an active protester, but that still shouldn't give the National Guard the right to shoot him. I'm a student at KSU right now, and I wish people would learn the whole story.
@1STACCS Killing four unarmed students, two of who weren't even protesters, is wrong. I've stood in the spots they were shot, and the Guard could have not possibly felt threatened at that far of a distance. They burned down the ROTC building, which was slated for demolition anyway, as a symbolic act. The Guard used much too powerful guns for the situation. They fired 67 shots in 13 seconds into a group of UNARMED students. I feel that is wrong.
@1STACCS Real mature...The soldiers fired as the students were leaving. The riot would have ended anyway. And there wouldn't have been a riot if the soldiers weren't there in the first place. It would have been different if the soldiers were being threatened, but they weren't. Do you actually know the whole story? Have you seen the coffin-shaped memorials where four students died so young? Maybe you should, you might change your mind.
This is weird, I now know of 3 countries that gunned down students for protesting, MEXICO(October 2, 1968) , CHINA(June 4, 1989) and USA(May 4, 1970). Does anyone know any other and dates
@joelito101 Not sure of the dates, but shortly after May 4, one student was killed and several injured at Jackson State. There were also student protests throughout the late 60s/early70s in Germany, France, and South Africa, all in which students were killed of injured.
@joelito101 It was different with each country, in all cases they were protesting the government. The French were protesting the broken education system and the war. In South Africa, they were protesting the Apartheid system, and in Germany students were protesting the hypocritical government and their treatment of students. I don't think they needed to kill students, but unfortunately that's what happened. It's weird how similar the protest movements were between countries.
@joelito101 How about a riot that would have spread into the city of Kent? Who knows how much destruction would have happened if the soldiers did not end the riot with shots of peace.
@1STACCS I can't speak for Kent since there is so much one sided information there. But in Mexico soldiers pursued students even after they had dispersed. They were being hunted. But only until a few years ago the survivors finally came up to tell their story and to confront the government to tell the public what really happened.
I wish the same thing happened here and survivors got together to confront the government about it.
@joelito101 Mexico is a corrupt third world nation that doesn't know anybetter. Just hope that we start sealing the US-Mexico border real soon.
What we should be doing is posting armed soldeirs on the border to protect the USA from the onslaught of gangs, drug lords and drugs, illegal guns, contraband, and the spread of third world diseases.
@1STACCS Mexico's government like all in the planet are corrupt, only Mexico is not interested in hiding it anymore. Sealing borders and placing military personnel only pushes the fear-mongering agenda that was started by the 9-11 hoax. Instead I think that we should use the internet to have people talk to people without governments interfering in our natural Freedoms.
@1STACCS 9-11 investigations have a lot of holes and missing information. So we don't actually know what really happened, only what was spoon fed from the tv media. It takes only a little bit of studying physics to know that a building does not come freefall in 8 seconds unless all support is removed. Specially after only 2 hrs of burning. There is way too many questions unanswered and W. Bush has a lot to answer to. Even now there is a movement to start a private investigation.
@1STACCS Because the government does not care to find out what really happened. It does not matter where you are in this planet, everything affects everything else.
You have a lot to learn still, who you are, where you are, what you are, and what this reality we live in is. It is far beyond the world presented in the boob tube. So living in Mexico, nice as it sounds, does not help what is going on.
@1STACCS My only agenda is to find out what the truth is. So science is a very good start. I'm not trying to have you believe me, only to have you question what you know and separate truth from lies.
I sound like a conspiracy nut only to sheeple. I question everything because I am my own person. I am free, no one owns me, I only believe my Self.
You will become a more productive person when you let go of all that fear you carry within.
@1STACCS There is only LOVE and fear is the absence of LOVE, I am currently waking up to living only in LOVE with all. so fear is no longer a part of my reality. of course I can only speak for my Self. others will have to do it with their own reality.
The only truth comes from your Self, what information comes into your reality becomes part of your truth, what information you allow into your reality is up to your Self, no one else's.
@joelito101 9 11 WAS NOT A HOAX How dare you, And anyone no matter where they are from..if they come into the USA illegaly then they are comitting a CRIME hence the word ILLEGAL.
@gibbdreamer I have seen both sides of the story, I choose to be the observer and decide on my own about 911. You can make up your own mind only after seeing ALL information. It happened but the reasons for 911 were not all told.
