That's a bit off. Mercy Ships is a volunteer organisation. The only time they have paid anyone is when there was a critical shortage of staffing in a critical area of operations that required qualified personnel to sail, run or keep the ship safe for all onboard and volunteers could not be found.
The Starbucks on board was donated and funded by Starbucks, charges reduced rates to all crew and donates a large chunk of the takings to the charitable work of MS.
too bad they dont pay the deck or engine departments anything, but they sure got their starbucks right? thats whats counts.
