  • You're right -

This "Telemount" logo lacks the polish and flair of the Paramount logo - I guess that comes from trying to wrangle and forge it out of actual scenery.

And the name "Telemount" brings...shall we say...unsavory thoughts to my gutter mind. I'm glad Paramount took the name well before the porn industry matured.

  • LOL...never thought of it quite like that!

  • OK, here's the story. According to Hal Erickson in "Syndicated Television", Telemount was "a company specializing in distributing the product of Paramount Pictures' KTLA-Los Angeles". (McFarland, 1999) It later teamed up with Mutual Broadcasting for "Cowboy G-Men". So it appears that the Paramount-Telemount connection is a fairly loose one.

  • I knew it was "Cowboy G-Men". I was researching Paramount's history in TV production (they had tried a couple of times before buying into Desilu)and Telemount was mentioned in regards to that. That said, I do agree that it does lack that certain polish that Paramount had.

  • This is from "Cowboy G-Men" (1952-53), with Russell Haydn (sp?) and Jackie Coogan. I doubt if Paramount had anything to do with it, though; it lacked the polish you would expect from them.

Telemount also produced "Time for Beany", the precursor of "Beany and Cecil".
