LOL! They cut Marc Ford because he was smoking a cigarette!
Marc Ford only appearances are in 1:15 and 3:56... smoking a cigarette!!!
HAHAHAHA! The video producer may have thought "Shit! We will loose our PG-13 if we don't cut that guy smoking!"... What a shame... I was expecting to see some footage of Ford solo...
Has anyone got a copy of the Koln performance, personally i thought this(HASTM) was their best tour and if you see "My Morning Song" from this performance Chris is really trying (maybe because they knew it was a tv special) i missed out on a copy on Ebay about 8 months ago and havent sen one since. If anyone has it post it and make a middle aged man very happy.Managed to get tickets for the Manchester gig in July when they goodbye to the UK.
May Heckle n Jeckle crow for a long time to come yet!
Saw this tour in New Haven Conn ...2 this day their still one of the best bands I ever seen live!!...Great American Band!!..& alwys stayed true 2 their roots...All the respect in the world 4 never compromising!!!...
I saw them this tour as well in Louisville, KY; they left after 1 song, no speak no slave, became a fan and saw them 8 more times live. Best live band I've ever seen, them and the original Alice in Chains.
WOW!.........I almost forgot what Rock sounded like.......Maybe the last great American band.......Only one complaint with vid.......where the hell was the camera while Marc Ford shredded that solo??? Although I must admit, watching Chris flying around the stage while Gorman pounded in the background almost made up for it...Splendid fellas, just splendid.
Admittedly, we all love the guitars and Chris' primal screaming, BUT the rock behind the Crowes' lineup right here was the drummer Steve Gorman( who perfectly played Zep's stuff when the toured with Page also!) and the bass player Johnny Colt! I havent liked the other bass players nearly as well as this line up right here! But glad they are still around...
I thing I will say about Robinson is that he has excellent taste in the guitars he uses. He has an excellent vintage guitar and vintage amp collection that all guitar players would drool and slobber over.
@presspell so did I....minneapolis/orpheum....where are u from? It was actually the weekend of my 21st b-day.....friday saw the crowes....saturday my b-day saw the "final" show by the gear daddies in austin minn. and then sunday went back up and saw the Crowes....not a bad weekend.....though my gf and I didn't get along saturday when we were together.....oh well, didn't spoil the entire weekend at least.....i wasn't with her the other two days......why did i just share all that?
Don't you just hate it when the camera zooms into the wrong guitarist during solo's? Great video by the way, love the energy of these early crowes videos.
Saw them on the "High As The Moon" tour right around this time at the Ice Arena in Seattle. This is how they were opening the show each night and it is still arguably the zenith of all my concert going experiences. At the time, they were the greatest rock and roll band on the face of planet earth.

As far as Georgia bands go, Collective Soul are 3x better musicians than the Black Crowes could ever hope to be. The Crowes don't deserve to lick the mud off of Duane's boots.
Well lift my leg, pappy, you sure gave me a shiner there...Collective Soul, the Robinson's are anus people, you even mixed in a spelling lesson...I got to hand it to you, old paint...you still got it. Now get the fuck off a Black Crowes message board. Seriously...you are like hearing someone eat with their mouth open. Equally disgusting AND annoying. Duane's a corpse, and you are not far behind given your advanced age. No one cares about what you like. Collective Soul?!!?? Really??? Go away...
Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, and Berry Oakley with ABB were the best jam rockers of all. They could turn a 4 minute album track into a 30 minute groove jam without even thinking about it. Listen to Mountain Jam from The Atlanta Pop Festival LIVE CD,7-3-70 and 7-5-70.
I use to live 5 minutes from these guys in Marietta, GA., so I'm not going to knock them but greatest rock band? I've seen ABB with Duane on slide, Peter Green & Danny Kirwin with Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who with Townsend in his prime and Keith Moon on drums, Procol Harem, Jefferson Airplane, Mountain with West and Felix Pappalardi on bass, and the ultimate Rock'n Roll machine, AC/DC with Bon Scott up front larger than "Rosie" in a 1000 person venue.
It's been my opinion for a long time that the Crowes have a greater amount of energy in their shows, you watch Jimi Hendrix play or Led Zeppelin, they spead up their songs live and it still doesn't compare to when the Crowes play No Speak no slave live at album tempo. IMO of course, but Allman's are great, and AC/DC does put on a kickass live show, Bon or Brian
Wow, you sure have seen alot of cool stuff. Nobody has seen that kind of business unless they are older than Jesus or totally full of steaming hot shit. Hey, how was that Stephen Foster show? I heard it was pretty badass. Played all the hits like Camptown Races and Swanee River. You will never again be able to see more than half the doods you mentioned because they are taking a dirt nap. Crowes rule by the way. Face it, you one-upper.You know not of what you speak...

I'm 57, and I've seen every group I mentioned you baby hoser!!! I've jammed with Duane and Dickey, jammed with the Georgia Satellites and know the Black Crowes personally. Marc Ford is a nice guy, and the Robinson brothers are ( * ) holes, why do think Marc left the group? No Ford, that's why the Crowes suck now.
To say one band is the "Greatest Rock Band" of all time is a pretty broad statement. IMO though they are the greatest rock band of their generation, in terms of longevity, creativity, style, consistency and just plain rockin, album after album.
Yep, saw this tour in Albany, NY at it was among the greatest shows I have ever seen. Without question the best I have ever seen the Crowes. I always get pissed that I missed the classic rock bands of the 70's at their best. With the Crowes I can safely say I saw them at their best. What an amazing show this was.
Agreed. Saw this tour in Seattle at the ice arena. To this day, it is singularly the greatest rock concert I have ever witnessed. Period. Verse. Chapter. End of story.
It's almost always like that when watching rock perfomances. Like I was watching Cream performing "Crossroads" and while Clapton played his amazing solo the cameras were focused on Ginger Baker playing drums.
What an unreal show. The first time I saw them was on this tour. They did it just like this opening in the dark.......the energy when the lights came up was EXPLOSIVE! Early 1993...C.W. Post Tilles Center, NY....I will never forget it.
They opened this tour in my home state of Minnesota on the weekend of my 21st B-day...it was a three date set. I saw 2 of the 3....Phenomenal energy! Always a band very true to themselves and I love the new line-up and album (warpaint)...a rebirth of sorts.
