The first battle is MUCH easier then the second, imo. The first might have "Shadow Doom Blaze" but it doesnt do much damage. The second form, however, has the strongest magic and physical attacks, along with a healer/reviver.
lolwut @ "It is impossible to complete the game using any other party but a party of Crono, Marle and Robo." You can beat Lavos with ANY party if you know what the hell you're doing.
The low levels you mean? That's a bit hard to explain since it's a complicated process but generally speaking it's achieved by running away from every non-mandatory encounter and making sure a single specific character is standing by the end of a battle so that the other two gain no experience. Hah this brings back some awesome memories of this game. Simply adored it through and through. Bet this mofo first try with characters at lvl 60. Used Crono, Frgo, and Ayla, they are a super ownage team and will just kick the crap out of this lavos form and his final form. One of the best team combos ever for just pure damage ass kicking.
True. I had to pause three times while recording. My PC messes up the synching of audio when I record for periods of time longer than 3 minutes, and when I was editing the three videos I removed the pauses.
Come to think of it, I beat the boss on my very first attempt, and I had luck with having my GreenDream user (Robo) without the action bar before the Doors of Doom.
I did rehearse a lot before uploading the final result, since even when I won I did an insane amount of mistakes.
Man, the second Lavos is 20000x times harder than the first Lavos! If it wasn't for that Auto-Life accessory and Lifeline, this battle would be impossible to finish.....but couldn't you cast Haste on Marle when only the main part is remaining so she can throw MegaElixirs faster? Lavos 2 doesn't seem to use his full-party attacks too often....
I considered that, but she hardly gets all that many turns before being killed anyway. It might have been a good idea in the last battle against the core, but not in this one.
There is hardly a necessity for more MegaElixirs anyway, and one Marle's turn per two of Crono and Robo is enough.
I agree, this battle is much harder than the first. The third is also quite tense.
Yeah, but since you're only allowed to use them after boss fights with Chrono, they'd be underleveled early on and it'd be harder to beat said bosses until mid-game, plus you're only allowed to use him in the final fights against Lavos......
Impossible to defeat Lavos unless u have Marle, Robo & Crono?
I used Magus instead of Marle and I defeated Lavos u.u

when I borrowed this game and his SNES from a friend, I made Crono so powerful, he did a 9,999 hit strike as a critical hit.

How many attempts did this take to get the proper timing on Doors of Doom. Then to actually win it.

Maybe a Chrono Lvl.15 solo? Not sure if it's possible, though.

low level crono solo just save before a boss fight and reset after the fight and use the others
