The Govt. at the time new of the fore-closure of the JBC long b4 hand, and they did'nt put any measures in place to secure the countless archives, footages and other library materials that they had.
They should've commisioned the INSTITUTE OF JAMAICA to collect and retrieve every piece of material from the JBC and store it in one of their libraries across the island.
The BBC has extensive coverages in scores of documentaries based on reggae music and bob marley. And this is the English man and look at the interest he has in it and its not his, can you imagine if it was his?
And what are we doing to preserve our own heritage? Nothing worth mentionong I'm afraid!
Look at the JBC, when they closed down its alleged that a lot of the archives have been robbed and misplaced. That's a travesty it should've been in the hands of the INSTITUTE OF JAMAICA.
Just shows you the intellectuality of Reggae music.
Reggae has many fascets and variations, it runs very deep with intriguing twists and turns, its exponents must be very well honoured & congratulated. I dont think the Jamaican Government ever trully recognise the value of this piece of art and they've not done enough.
Right now I am proposing to the Jamaican Government to build us a MUSEUM and dedicate it to our music and its practicioners.
I got the fe me time reissue of the single, expecting the same version that appears on the Dub I LP, how wrong I was. I was BLOWN AWAY first time hearing this. Nice to know who playing, thanks.
