  • You just used google musical translate into this instrument... didn't you...? : D?

  • It's an excellent choice and cover with the shamisen!!!

  • This song = Zen

  • You, sir, are awesome. Too bad you probably don't live anywhere near me, or I could lend you some percussive skills. Keep on keeping on! Incredible talent.

  • Japanese man with a white mans body

  • Random coincidence: I had a harmonica in my hand, and tried to play along to this, and got it right 80% of the time.

I've never played harmonica before this week.

Well, it _does_ only play in one key (this is a G) and since it's a cheap 'blues' model, you can 'bend' to extend that by a few notes.

  • I love this! It's amazing!!!! Wonderful!!!!!

  • you are very good, but this deserves a better sounding mic!!!

  • It's really a great pleasure to watch and listen to all of your recordings. Thanks for sharing.

  • I love it! You're quite talented good sir! You make me want to pick up a Tsugaru Shamisen and rock out hard.

  • Can you play it with regular guitar pick?

  • @FreeGuitarLicks of course he can

  • This is truly beautiful. It moved me. :'D

    You are truly talented.

  • You just took one of my favorite songs from my favorite album from my absolute favorite band in the entire world, and made a cover of it that I could listen to for AGES. Seriously. I think I'm in love. <3 Bravo, sir! As a singer myself, I'm itching to sing with this. Haha.

Blackbird would be another great sounding one to do with the Shamisen, I think. ;)

  • This is literally the greatest thing on the internet.... This is like a Japanese Banjo, Lute, Guitar, Thing.... :DDD

  • @BorisGaquere Really? I appreciate the comment, but I'm pretty sure it is an A chord there.

  • beautiful!

would you answer a question that i have, sir? (:

i just want to know if there's any kind of marking on the side of the neck that marks what would be frets, if they were there.

or do you just have to remember where the notes are, and get really good at playing them on the right spot? o:

  • This is just awesomme!

Did you change the tuning at all? How long have you been playing the Shamisen? I've played them twice, once while here, another time at home in Aus.

    Great work!

  • Thanks a lot for the comment! Nope, I didn't alter the tuning any; that's the most commonly used shamisen tuning. I enjoyed your rendition a lot, too!
