Thanks for the response. We don't need to keep going back & forth with this anymore: your opinion Vs mine. Yes, I KNOW that ORD had TWO airlines that Hub here, I'm a NATIVE Chicagoan, and luck for that too! But I ALSO know that BOTH of these airlines tries with a vengeance to BLOCK any competition from O'Hare by eating up all of the gates. Case in point; Virgin America is planning to strat service to SFO in mAY, United tried to block it AGAIN! I suppose that's called free enterprise. I say BULL!
I'm SO tired of all the Regional jets that AA and United use lately. I am especially tired of how many concourses & gates AA hogs up at O'Hare,They have G, H, K, & L concourses practically all to themselves.
@tonyde52 Why are you tired of AA having gates at ORD? It's and AA hub, airlines usually have 2-3 concourses to themselves at hubs...That's the general idea.
@tonyde52 What I SAID was that NO AIRLINE SHOULD MONONOPOLIZE HALF OF THE GATES, even if it IS their HUB. Having a hub doesn't mean taking the entire airport over. You don't get it, do you? Customers deserve other choices other than ONE airline !!
@tonyde52 No I do get it, but ORD has TWO airlines that hub there, so you're luckier than most. So you have choices, fly Delta through ATL, United, or any of the other many airlines that fly to ORD.
This is totally random, but don't you just totally love those songs that just seem right to play when you arrive/leave a place? Anyone here like country music? I hope you get the chance to go to Omaha, Ne! If you do go to Nebraska, be sure to eat at a fast-food restaurant called, "Runza." Once again, I know this all was random.
@Ben123planes haha yeah i know but all airplanes do that cuz when i went this month they did that for my airplane too, idk why! :) still pretty cool; unless we too had a lot of connecting passengers! -________-
Maybe you can do a flight with a C-130 to Port-Au-Prince Haiti from Miami, or Guantanamo Bay or something i think that will be a really sweet video =]
@JustMeDima They appear to be two yurt-stlye garages which probably house tractors, trucks or such for snow clearing...maybe also sand and or salt? I have seen structures like this along side highways in Canada...check out Google map just off the eastern end of Runway 28.
@jaypek43 . I also noticed those two yurt style buildings because I drive past one occaisionally here in Plymouth, England. Take a look at google earth, latitude and longitude 50.366, -4.115 .
your in Chicago,IL if your going to downtown cause I live in chicago and there is many cities in Chicago next time land at midway yo0ur get here faster and land quicker
I don't know why sometime ERJ's makes really rough landings. The last flight on an ERJ was a good one, but the other ones are really rough. Also I like how the flight attendants use phonetic alphabet for G and L. Also on my last flight, the ground crew at Little Rock National Airport(KLIT/LIT) wasn't ready for the ERJ that I was in. By the way the aircraft that I was on was an ERJ 175 with 2-2 seating configuration in the coach section. Nice video. Jon5700
The fact that most of these regional airlines employ pilots with relatively low flying hours in order to keep costs down. In my last two flights in a ERJ - the captain was no more than 30 years old, and on both occasions the landings were scary.
Nice video, Jon! Never have flown American Eagle or AA before. I tend to stick w/Delta or US Airways because they're cheaper out of KLEX than American. Was this trip for business or pleasure & was ORD your final destination? I've got family that live in Glen Ellyn, IL (a suburb of Chicago in case you weren't familiar) but it's been awhile since I've been up to visit. Thanks for posting this vid! Cheers! :)
@elijojo123321 how do you figure? With the advancement of technology. I think so. They already have contact lenses with nano chip technology. Have you seeing things like in Minority Report
@juniormafia27 So they don't blind their fellow pilots in other planes, it's SOP to turn them on only when the a/c is on the runway & ready for takeoff or turn them off once they're clear of the runway. Nothing ruins a pilot's night vision more than looking into a strobe as it flashes while on a taxiway. The only exception to this rule is if an a/c (private plane) doesn't have a rotating beacon, then they use the strobes to allow ground control to see them. All modern a/c have rot. beacons.
come on jon its all about ual when you fly in to chicago, non the less welcome to chicago and depending how long your here like i said come on up to rfd
@767Dude: I've flown in many. If the weather is calm, other than a smaller cabin (2+2 seating, slightly lower ceiling, only 50 pass. & no first class) it's pretty much the same. Bombardier makes the best RJ (IMHO) because it has a bigger cross-section so I can stand upright & not bump my head. Embraers have a smaller cross-section so I have to stoop (I'm 5'11") & it feels more cramped. If the weather's rough, though, RJs can be highly unpleasant. They REALLY get tossed around in rough weather.
@767Dude: Based upon the location on your channel page & depending upon the airport you depart out of & where you're headed into Europe, some airlines like Air France, KLM Cityhopper, etc. offer flights on RJs but it depends. Major airports like Gatwick & Heathrow are probably going to be bigger jets only. When I lived in St. Louis back in the days of TWA, I never flew anywhere that wasn't on a midsize/large jet because St. Louis was TWA's flagship hub (except to KY, of course). Cheers! :)
I rarely fly to Europe and when I do fly there it's usely on a 737 or A320.

Either one isn't bad at all given the short duration of the flight, but hopefully the weather will be pleasant for you regardless so that you have a nice, smooth flight either way.
