  • I don't have a clue to what my daughter did to her Eee pc 1005hab, but this vid got it running again. I owe you a beer.

  • well, i've got win xp, and I made a bootable USB with restore DVD files, went to Bios and set it to boot from USB, doesn't work, same black screen. don't know what else can I do.

  • it doesn't work for me, only f2 works. when I load computer, straight away it comes up with black skreen and a hyphen....how to find the solution????

  • If F9 down't work for you (be sure of that!), maybe it's time to restore your EEE using the restore DVD.

First make yourself a bootable USB stick with some kind of Linux distribution on it (e.g. DamnSmallLinux), back-up your EEE, and then use the restore DVD to restore your EEE (either using a external DVD-drive, either a bootable USB stick).

For all the steps use the EEEWiki and Google.

Tell us how things work out for you.

  • um F9 isnt working for me just goes to the user screens. -_-

  • keep hitting F9 from the moment you start your EEE 'till you see the restore screen

  • Thank you so much. I've been researching and researching and here you solved my problem in 10 seconds. I bow to thee

  • omg u saved my eee.
