  • TRUE STORY BRO

  • The shrimp are basically eating their own skin to survive, these ecospheres are bad news, look it up

  • shake it.

  • what kind of stuff live in them? are they all different? you are the fist one I have seen with fish. p

  • i loled when i read about the ecosphere website "they dont reproduce because they automatically know there wouldn't be enough space" LOL they dont reproduce from starvation and reproducing takes energy. Since the shrimp are actually starving... well makes sense they dont want to waste energy

  • kool starving shrimp

  • what would happen if you just happened to start...SHAKING THEM AROUND LIKE A MAD PERSON?!

  • if they die...u need to refill em...and how do the company refill them?how did they even creat such a beautifull thing?

  • I've had one of these for four years they're still doing fine.

  • @CoryGuru they r very expensive..i want one :(

  • Do a little research and unfortunately you will find that the ecosphere is not sustainable. These are Hawaiian Red Shrimp. The sphere does not provide enough food/nutrition for the shrimp. This is why they eat each the dead corpses and shrink each time they shed. Essentially, for their shortened 3-year life span they swim starving. Don't believe me? Do a little research online and you will see. Trust me I did think about buying one of these things, but I think the ecosphere needs to be revised.

  • Sad.

The frog-o-sphere is looking like a good buy, they can be fed 2 pellets twice a week and it comes with a year worth of food, "Living Gravel" acts as a biological filter, converting excess food and waste into a soluble form that can be used by the bamboo plant and it seems a good buy for:

$40, instead of spending like $55-60+ on a small ecosphere of unsustainable shrimp.

The frogs live 5 years, I just hope they pair up males and females.

  • dont tell peta your getting a frog o sphere or theyll burn your house down.

  • @FrosDOwnz mmk..ADFs need about..1-2 gallons a frog. frog o sphere is half a gallon

ok so how bout this..some company. brookstone, puts you. in a four walled room. with no ventilation, they feed you twice a week so you juuust barely get enough nutrition to live a short while. this whole time you're susceptible to disease and you basically live in your own waste. while giants watch you.

buy at least a 3-10 gallon aquarium if you want these frogs please. people should be educated.

  • @Nic6763 I know you think you're pretty smart and all, but I've had my EcoSphere for more than 10 years now with one shrimp left. It's still alive and kicking (knock on wood). It's a pretty neat concept and I guess depending on how you keep it, changes the life span. All I have done is not leave it in direct sunlight and occasionally put it by the window. Occasionally meaning once every 3 months. There were 3 to begin with by the way. Just my personal experience, but maybe you know more.

  • @Nic6763 the concept can definitely work, especially for a few years, the only problem is the how small the sphere is. if the sphere were maybe 3 or 5 times the diameter, there would be less fluctuations from various changes, higher tolerance from having more pH buffering and so on. i think having the size of the sphere so limited, and trying to breed such large organisms, has to take some extreme precision and fine tuning, and would require maintaining very precise temperature and lighting

  • @Nic6763 mine is 5 years old now - everyone alive and well.

  • @Nic6763 Mine turned 10 years old today. Where is your science now?

  • awesome dude, nice work!

i used to have this but then the shrimp died:( i might get another one in a few days

  • Im going to get one soon. Either buy it or make one ( I know where I can get 1 for 65 dollars

  • very cool the perfect pet for people with allergies :)

  • Its very nice but its to expensive i think;/

  • it is expensive...but the lowest price i found was65.00. and that is only for a4inch ball

  • The point is you don't have to. It contains everything need to sustain life. All you have to do is provide and control the amount of sunlight.

  • Don it ever run out ?

  • i dont know but it is caled an ECOSYSTEM. hint?

  • how does that work?! O_o

  • did you create it?? whats the receip, please??

    thanks.

  • You can purchase them from a local Discovery Store. :) (I got it as a Christmas present 2 years ago, and they are still living happily now!)

  • still alive now?

  • such cute happy guys. maybe living in a bubble isnt such a bad thing? food for thought!

  • hey how come mine dont swim around so much like that?

  • dont you know what a ecosphere is? everything is recycled, including carbon dioxide, oxygen, plants, organism, etc. the scientists that invented this made sure that the blanace was perfect so that it could survive on its own. its like saying to god to break open earth so that we could live. thats not good.

  • @doggarrrs THE SCIENTISTS that u praise, that were involved in this product were a couple of business men that tried to make it seem like the frog has everything that it needs....but like the comment above u said...THE SHRIMP LIVE THEIR LIFE STARVING!!!...so u can take your ignorant brain AND DO THIS WORLD A FAVOUR AND GO DIE...CUZ THE EARTH HAS EVERYTHING THAT WE NEED BUT THE DAM ECOSPHERE DOESNT....oh man some of the people in this world are so f***ed up....

  • @awkwardemperor calm down you crazy ass

  • @awkwardemperor stfu faggggg you lost the game big time bro

  • @awkwardemperor if your so mad how bout u go get a life instead of making comments on something u dont have 2 read

  • @awkwardemperor Stop telling people to die, that's just pathetic and makes you look like your fucking insane. If anybody is ignorant, it's you.

  • The glass is made specificly so the shrimp eat the plant, turn the O2 (oxygen) into CO2 (carbon dioxide), and makes waste, then the plant eats the C02 which turns into O2, and eats the waste, grows larger suplying the shrimp with more food. And then the cycle repeats. It's called an ECOSYSTEM.

  • EcoSpheres rock!!! Got mine a while ago, and they are still thriving :D

  • wait did you make this? o.o
