  • Bob Kerrey has a lot of strengths. Running a school like a school (as opposed to running a school like an impersonal enterprise) is *not* one of Kerrey's strengths. He can do a lot of good, and has done a lot of good, but he was not the right guy for this job. (And, to be fair, his slaughter of civilians in Vietnam is reprehensible, especially given others' testimony that he knew he was killing civilians.)

He may have been terrible in this role, but why chase him? What does that accomplish?

  • why the fuck are they saying "war criminal" and "down with the new world order". that's like saying "anarchy in the UK". and they're laughing too. WTF this is a phony protest.

  • why the fuck are they saying "war criminal" and "down with the new world order". that's like saying "anarchy in the UK".

  • new school students literally took a shit on bob kerrey's reputation

  • Pussies, only when there is more of them then an old man . . . What loser's, how's your education going at NYU, Oh yeah you're out!!!

  • NAVY SEAL+Proud Veteran+Nebraska Former Governor+ Former Nebraskan US Senator= Honorable Integrity-filled Patriotic Non-threating-protest-student-hitting MAN versus Dumb Ignorant Stupid Don't Know Anything about "New World Order" or how to protest "college students" The future of America stupidly protesting because well they don't seem to know either.

  • These students are cowards. Bob Kerrey is a hero. I'm really sorry to see this.

  • Kerrey is a 911 criminal.

  • Look at all those monkeys acting up.

  • i am ashamed to say that these are my peers.

seriously chasing a veteran?? i mean cmon have some decency and respect.

  • These kids mean well, but their faculty has given them a way of viewing the world that is so far removed from reality that they don't realize that they are behaving like a MOB. This footage is embarrassing to me because I was once a student radical. I can only hope that I was not so brutal and foolish, but I don't have video footage to mull over.

  • Two faced animal students being monkeys.

  • Reps to those security guards for keeping their cool. I know if I was guarding the guy I couldn't have resisted the temptation to turn around, pull out my tazer, and fry me some hippy.

  • At the same time, I can relate to these kids' frustration. What's different about Kerrey's generation and this generation (mine as well) is that we don't have a great war. With safe suburban neighborhoods and everyone-wins team sports we have been robbed of the opportunity to cut our teeth in the world. Instead we are Generation Confused. These kids think they're righteous for always getting angry at the slightest whiff of injustice, but it's misdirected. It's themselves they're angry with.

  • that's quite a naive statement. these people are interested in making social progress, something that is just as relevant today as it was in 'your generation.'

  • The other thing is that what in the hell do these kids know about what it's like to perform guerilla combat in the jungles of Vietnam as a young 20-something? Maybe Kerrey screwed up and took some innocent lives in the midst of a real-life hell, but this situation deserves more understanding. The man was awarded the Medal of Honor for saving his squadron from certain death after his leg was blown off. Isn't there more to the story than what they're giving him?

  • Yeah, this is lame. What are they protesting? It looks like a witchhunt against a 60-something war vet with a gimp leg. They shout "war criminal" and "down with the New World Order," but do they really want to engage with him? I doubt it. Truth is, Bob Kerrey is incredibly brilliant, and if they actually tried to talk to him they fall flat on their face. Next best thing is ganging up on him, literally on the schoolyard.

  • look up the events of the occupation at the new school. i would agree, haranguing him for his service in vietnam is stupid, but there are SERIOUS and VALID criticisms of how he runs the New School. that is what everything is about. they aren't mad he is a vietnam vet.

  • Chasing a disabled man because you disagree with him isn't an act of bravery. It's cowardice.

  • Being president of that university looks like a fun job.

  • chasing a guy to his home and hanging around outside is pretty lame. it's borderline harassment.

  • he is a war criminal, he slit the throats of vietnamese families. Harassment is not always bad, hitler, pinochet, franco and trujillo should have been harrassed more

  • if he's a war criminal then you should do something real about it. fight so that he is charged for being a war criminal - don't be a whiny, petty, harasser.

  • well, that was part of it, we protested outside for a long time, we are working to get him resigned and charged - and he is unapologetic about slitting the throats of Vietnamese families - I wasn't among the people chasing him but I appreciate the folks who did, violence cannot be met with flowers more direct action is appropriate

  • Why don't you just kill him? If his crimes are truly that egregious as to be compared to Hitler's, would you really stop at getting him "resigned and charged"?

  • what did he say that makes him "unapologetic about slitting the throats of Vietnamese families?"

    just curious.

  • He sure was scared of the kids questions and comments.
