at thiscamp each of us were able to transfer out of our wheelchairs, down onto the dock and from there slide our butts onto the seat. which is a fixed seat (Wintech).
but at some clubs they perhaps do utilize such lifts. Personally havent seen one in use in the rowing community, only with the paddlers.

rowing, especially the arms only rowers, develop tremendous arm strength, that I think all of us there could lift our body weight with our arms
We use 3 seperate categories for adaptive rowing,. the LTA (legs trunk and arms), are rowers who are able to use their legs, such as blind, deaf, or persons with an amputee below the knee.
the TA (trunk and arms only-no ability to use legs), and A (arms only-no ability to use our trunk muscles) rowers are all on a fixed seat that does not slide. this seat is specially made (by Wintech) with a back rest, and straps at appropriate places to help the individual remain seated
I am a disabled person looking for people in wheelchairs who want to meet other wheelchiar bound people who are mildly disabled needing to use a wheelchair for long distance to major disabled with a power wheelchiar with a P.C.A.s or Blind or Deaf . Want to meet as a ground for camps and fundraising or make money for self to pay medical bills or buy a van or buy a power wheelchair who can work in U.S.A. legally and can stay a month or longer in Las Vegas or Los Angeles where we will have meeting
How do they get transferred into the boat? Maybe the Ergotrans Harness would help.
